The dissertation presents a contextual and liberative ecclesial social ethic for Orthodox ethics. This proposed social ethic aims to be able to change specific ethical principles in dialogue with the need confronted, its social and cultural context, the fundamental value of liberation and the Scripture and Tradition; not only to change the language of expressing specific ethical principles. This social ethic aims to have, within the sacramental life of the church, a praxis that is relevant, liberative and salvific.; The dissertation bases this social ethic primarily on the liberative and salvific theoethical values and contextual methodological elements that are derived from the Tradition of the Eastern Early Church. From this Tradition, this social ethic is predominantly based on the liberative theoethical values and method that are derived from the praxis of Deaconesses' ordination in the Eastern Early Church. Along with its emphasis on Tradition, this social ethic enters into dialogue with the contextual liberation theologies, with ethics on community of western ethicists, and with the social ethical thought of the World Council of Churches.; The contextual and liberative social ethic is also based on Orthodox theological claims, the liturgy and Eucharist, the liturgical and Eucharistic community, and on an expanded version of “the liturgy after the liturgy,” in which relevant, liberative and salvific social action by groups of this community has a prominent place. The dissertation aims for its ecclesial social ethic to be genuinely Orthodox and an intrinsic part of Orthodox ethics.
