This study examines the performed life narratives of two family elders living in the Assyrian-American Diaspora. It considers the structural features and textual characteristics of the narratives--part of the larger Benjamin Family Archive--as well the authors' historical and geographical references, and their pedagogical orientations. The research contributes to the historical record, and to the literature on disenfranchised minorities as seen from the perspectives of gender, cultural identity, and displacement.;Key words: life narrative, Assyrian Diaspora, dialogical discourse, feminist theory, family history, and cultural identity.
