This research study detailed a partial program evaluation of the Stepping Stone Child Advocacy Center in Dublin, Georgia. The child advocacy center model seeks to reduce the trauma of victims of child sexual abuse by using a collaborative model of investigation and providing support and connection to resources for the families. This study used a mixed methodology. The quantitative component, through the use of a pre and posttest design, examined the impact of the Stepping Stone program on participants' level of empowerment and their use of community resources. The qualitative component of the study provided an opportunity for participants to voice their experiences with Stepping Stone. Thirteen participants who were the parents or caregivers of children who alleged sexual abuse were referred to the Stepping Stone program and agreed to participate. Results indicated participants' level of empowerment did not increase during the study period, but their use of community resources increased significantly. The qualitative study highlighted participants' positive and negative experiences about the overall program and facility. Recommendations included measuring empowerment as a long term goal and developing a more extensive packet of information to address concerns that emerged in the qualitative portion of the study.
