| Commuting using roads is considered the primary means of transportation between Abu-Dhabi and Dubai. These roads act as the main arteries between the two Metropolitan States. There are several options that commuters tend to use in order to arrive to their destinations. Weather conditions and road hazards represent major obstacles that commuters face on daily basis. This research represents a detailed study, which is based on sound system engineering principles and optimization techniques, for evaluating the different transportation options. Different methods will be examined in order to determine the preferred mode of transportation. The methods are listed below:;1st method: 50 AHP Runs;2nd method: single AHP averaging;3rd method: reciprocal single AHP averaging;Data collected from different users using a specialized survey developed exclusively for this purpose. The survey assists in determining the critical factors for commuting options. The data was tested statistically in order to ensure the validity. Then, Analytical Hierarchy Process, which is a multi criteria decision technique, is utilized to rank the variables according to their importance. |
