This dissertation analyses trade between the U.S. and China from public choice perspective. With the expansion of economic globalization, China experienced an increasing economic growth. China's export-oriented policy increased its trade volume dramatically and made the country become one of the largest trading partners of the United States. The U.S. also benefited from trade with China as China is the most populous country in the world. Public choice theories are used to discuss the history of trade relationships between the two countries from 1988 to 2005. Empirical researches are conducted to support public choice posits.
