Abstract/Summary:
It is unknown whether a performance management review process, conducted by peers, will enhance a school finance officer's ability to effectively manage the fiscal operations of school districts in Delaware. The purpose of this study is to examine the current system of financial management review in the State of Delaware and develop a Performance Management Review System similar to that of Texas, Pennsylvania, and Florida who have designed management review oversight processes. School systems in Delaware could benefit greatly by the collective expertise of school district finance officers collectively reviewing and monitoring each other to ensure consistent, comprehensive, and ethical management of taxpayer resources. This study will analyze the effects of a school district performance management review system in Delaware.
