Abstract/Summary:
This research has three principal goals. The first was the design and identification of a new model for Internet security. This new model will use technology called "svault" (Appendix A-self securing vault), developed specifically for this experiment. The second goal is to determine if a relationship exists between the use of the svault model of Internet security and satisfaction in users in the United States (U.S.). The third goal is to provide recommendations for future research to investigate the impact on the satisfaction of Internet users in the U.S. who employ specific svault security controls. The experimental method was selected because it is the only method that can truly test our hypotheses concerning cause-effect relationships.;The overarching purpose of investigating the relationship between the use of the new model (svault) and user satisfaction is to assist Internet users in determining how they can best allocate their limited resources toward the information security problem. This is particularly important given the significance of Internet users to the economy of the United States.
