Abstract/Summary:
"Pixels from Pulpit and Pew" explores the church's engagement in multimedia. It examines the power of photography to communicate effectively with congregations during sermons and biblical lessons. Understanding that we are living in the digital age, this project endeavors to effectively develop and implement a workshop to train clergy and teachers to use digital images to enhance liturgical presentations. Photographers have a unique capability to "write with light.";Details of the workshop, entitled, "Enhancing Biblical Teachings with Digital Media" are included and can be easily replicated. Also included in this document is data collected from the application of a sermon where projected digital images were used to enhance the message. Finally, sample images are incorporated which can be used for teaching and/or preaching.
