Abstract/Summary:
This applied dissertation was designed to conduct a citation and content analysis of the Quarterly Review of Distance Education (QRDE) from 2000 to 2006 in order to define the impact of the journal's scholarly communication on the field of distance education. The research was developed using data-collection tools to facilitate a thorough citation and content analysis in order to evaluate the quality of QRDE from 2000 to 2006 so as to clearly define the extent to which the journal added valuable new information to the field of distance education.;Many fields or disciplines are judged by the impact and quality of their publications. The analysis of the data revealed that the QRDE is a high-quality journal that brings more prestige and visibility to the field of distance education and to the practitioners within the field.
