This pilot study explored the body image concerns of Christian young adults who experience same-sex attraction. Participants identified as Christian and were at an early stage of identity development (between the ages of 18-22). They were solicited through various gatekeepers and use of the "snowball technique." Each participant completed a 1-11/2 hour phone interview consisting of questions regarding body image, experiences of same-sex attraction, the meaning of these attractions, and how their faith has influenced their experiences with same-sex attraction. Qualitative analysis, the constant comparative method, was utilized to explore themes presented across the data. |
