On Embodiments Of Aesthetical Features In Translation Of Tourism Attraction

As the ever-deepening development of China’s all-rounding and multi-levelexchanges with the other countries in the world, interpretation study is welcoming agolden age. Today, the translation circles need to carry out researches into theinterpreting theory and methodology more than ever. Since the beginning of the newcentury, more and more investigation and research accomplishments of foreigncountries have been introduced into China including the research of tourisminterpreting. The research involves many kinds of disciplines, such as culturalcommunication, linguistics, pragmatics, psychology, etc..Over the past30years, the research results of translation aesthetics have beenwidely introduced into the research of translation. Since1980s, there have beendozens of papers on written translation and aesthetics in China’s core magazines onforeign languages studies. However, there are few books discussing translationaesthetics in the domestic translation circle. At the same time, economic globalizationmakes cross-cultural communication more and more frequent; tourism incross-cultural communication plays a very important role in China, a country with5000years history, splendid culture and countless breathtaking landscapes andremarkable cultural relics. After the Olympic Games in2008China attracts more andmore foreign visitors to come. The interpretation quality of tourism helps to promoteChina’s international image and popularize Chinese culture. For now many scholarshave studied on angles like functional theology, adaption theory and cross-culturetheory, but few started with translation aesthetics.This thesis tries to make a study of interpreting aesthetics by discussing theaesthetical features, aesthetical subject and object, and the sense of beauty from theprospective of interpreting aesthetics. The author tries to analyze the special beauty oftranslation of tourism attraction by making a combination of aesthetics andinterpretation. This thesis tries to reveal the significance of translation aesthetics andto approach how the aesthetic principles can be applied to tourism translation practiceso as to better the performance.
