Itinerarios culturales mediante la puesta en valor de sus nodos componentes. El caso de la Cartagena Romana

The interest in history and the origins of our civilization and its cities can be traced back to a time long ago, but the issue of asset recovery is relatively recent given the broad temporal spectrum encompassing the concept in itself. As a result, a multitude of actions have been developed throughout the 20th century with the aim of recovering archaeological spaces and museum venues in Spain, and all around the world, through UNESCO. These works have led to important advances in the development of museography and archaeological heritage enhancement. Cultural Itineraries represent a change in the way that heritage conservation must be carried out; the concept of a monument as being isolated from its context is developed, and town centers, neighborhoods, historic populations, and cultural landscapes are recognized as new categories of cultural heritage, fostering communication and cooperation among its population in the interests of preservation. Under all these principles, in 2007, the Valencian Government developed a plan for the recovery of the Via Augusta as a cultural hub. This work, continued up to the border of the community of Valencia and Murcia, does not define an end point, and it offers a great chance to be extended further. Through the definition of different categories of nodes, the archaeological remains of Roman times accredited in Cartagena during the last century are classified, establishing Main Nodes which articulate the layout of a Cultural Itinerary in the city. Only through the knowledge of this information, we can mark them as a fundamental objective, the establishment of strategies of connection and implementation between the different Main Nodes. Only in this way we can propose a Cultural Itinerary, according to the criteria which are established by ICOMOS, giving continuity to the Cultural Itinerary of the Via Augusta. Next stop, the Roman Cartagena.;El interes por la historia y el origen de nuestra civilizacion y nuestras ciudades se remonta mucho tiempo atras, pero la cuestion de la recuperacion patrimonial resulta relativamente reciente, dado el amplio espectro temporal que abarca el concepto en si mismo. Como resultado, se han desarrollado a lo largo del S. XX numerosas actuaciones, destinadas a la recuperacion de espacios arqueologicos como recintos museisticos, no solo en Espana, sino a nivel global a traves de la UNESCO. Todos estos trabajos han permitido importantes avances en el desarrollo de los trabajos de musealizacion y de puesta en valor del patrimonio arqueologico. Los Itinerarios Culturales suponen un cambio en las formas de conservacion del patrimonio; se desarrolla el concepto de monumento en su consideracion como obra aislada de su contexto, y se introducen centros, barrios, poblaciones historicas, y paisaje cultural como categorias patrimoniales, favoreciendo la comunicacion y la cooperacion entre los pueblos para la conservacion del patrimonio. Bajo todos estos principios, en 2007, el Gobierno Valenciano desarrolla un plan para la recuperacion de la Via Augusta como eje cultural. Este eje, planteado hasta la frontera entre la Comunidad Valencia y Murcia, no define un punto final, sino que queda abierto en su continuidad. A traves de la definicion de diferentes categorias de nodos, los restos arqueologicos de epoca romana acreditados en Cartagena durante el ultimo siglo son clasificados, estableciendo los Nodos Principiales que articulen el trazado de un Itinerario Cultural en la ciudad. Unicamente a traves del conocimiento de esta informacion, podremos marcar como objetivo fundamental, el establecimiento de estrategias de conexion e implementacion entre los distintos Nodos Principales. Solo asi podemos proponer un Itinerario Cultural, en linea con los criterios que para ellos establece ICOMOS, dando continuidad al Itinerario Cultural de la Via Augusta.
