Abstract/Summary:
This is a descriptive study on the drinking patterns of Indian undergraduate college students living in the Northwest region of India, Punjab. The participants for this study include 216 college students selected from various colleges in Punjab, the Northwest portion of India. The Student Alcohol Questionnaire (SAQ) and Alcohol Expectancy Questionnaire (AEQ) will be used to assess the participants' related behavior, knowledge of alcohol and its effects, and various demographic questions. Results demonstrate that students of the Sikh religion endorsed a higher level of alcohol consumption than their Hindu counterparts. Additionally, male and younger Indian students were found to drink more than females and the older students. Implications of these findings and fixture research implications were discussed.
