Abstract/Summary:
Motivated by analyzing the risk of decompression sickness among scuba divers, we propose statistical procedures to estimate the Multi-Dimensional Effective Dose for binary outcomes. The k-dimensional effective dose can be determined by conditioning on k-1 components and solving the last component as a conditional univariate effective dose. We apply the widely-used logistic regression model and the state-of-the-art semiparametric model to describe the dose-response relationship and estimate the conditional effective dose based on the fitted models. We then consider various approaches to calculate the confidence regions for the multi-dimensional effective dose. Our research findings can prescribe safety guidelines immediately for the U.S. Navy and other scuba divers.
