Child sexual abuse constitutes a significant portion of all reported criminal sex acts. Persons convicted of sexual offenses serve an average prison term of 8 years prior to release. There is a lack in research literature specifying an offender's readiness for release or probability of reoffending. As a result, this quantitative analysis will examine the effectiveness of a postrelease method referred to as the chaperone program. Through the use of a convenience sampling method, preexisting data will be analyzed to determine the level of effectiveness of the chaperone program upon offender behaviors. |
