Industrial agglomeration is an important feature of the economic development of a country or region. It is a hot topic of industrial economics to study its impact on economic growth. At present, the international and domestic development environment is complex and changeable, international trade frictions are constantly escalating, and domestic economic development has entered a new normal, which has put forward higher requirements for industrial agglomeration. As a large country with a large number of cities, significant regional differences, and close ties, the strategy of generalized industrial agglomeration and development is obviously not suitable. Therefore,it is necessary to consider the differences and interconnections of various urban spaces and put forward targeted countermeasures. In turn,it promotes urban economic growth. This paper focuses on the influence mechanism of industrial agglomeration on economic growth from the perspective of industrial agglomeration type heterogeneity, effect heterogeneity and spatial heterogeneity, and uses the panel data of 280 cities in China from 2004 to 2016 to demonstrate through spatial measurement methods.Investigate the effect of industrial agglomeration heterogeneity on economic growth and the effect of spatial spillovers, and propose a differentiated industrial agglomeration development strategy.According to the logic and analysis framework of this paper, the following five aspects are mainly studied.First, the theoretical framework of industrial agglomeration heterogeneity for economic growth.Based on the heterogeneity of industrial agglomeration types, the heterogeneity of industrial effects is an external approach, the heterogeneity of industrial space is a space carrier, and the theoretical mechanism of the impact of industrial agglomeration on economic growth from the perspective of heterogeneity is analyzed.Among them, the heterogeneity of industrial agglomeration includes manufacturing agglomeration, agglomeration of productive services, and agglomeration of manufacturing and productive services;the heterogeneity of industrial agglomeration effects includes specialization effects, diversification effects, and competitive effects;industrial agglomeration spatial heterogeneity includes population size heterogeneity, geographic location heterogeneity, and administrative level heterogeneity.Second, the spatial and temporal evolution of industrial agglomeration.Based on the actual basis of industrial agglomeration heterogeneity, the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics of different types and spatial heterogeneity classification of industrial agglomeration are analyzed through the measurement of individual industrial agglomeration index and multiple industrial collaborative agglomeration index. On this basis, the index of industrial agglomeration effect heterogeneity is further measured, and the characterization variable of industrial agglomeration spatial heterogeneity is determined. The third is the study of the impact of industrial agglomeration type heterogeneity on economic growth. The spatial measurement model is selected, with the manufacturing agglomeration index, the producer service industry agglomeration index, the manufacturing and production service industry synergy agglomeration index as the core variables, and the empirical test on the impact of economic growth measured by per capita GDP.The results show that the agglomeration of manufacturing industry has a positive effect on economic growth;the agglomeration of productive service industry has little effect on economic growth, and the synergy of manufacturing and production service industry has a very significant positive effect on economic growth. From a regional perspective, the effect of the heterogeneity of industrial agglomeration types on economic growth is quite different. The fourth is the study of the impact of industrial agglomeration effect heterogeneity on economic growth.Taking MAR externality,Jacobs externality and Porter externality index as the proxy variables of industrial agglomeration effect heterogeneity, the effect of economic growth on the economic growth was tested by the spatial Dubin model. The results show that the influence of MAR externality on economic growth has an inverted U-shaped relationship, and the influence of Jacobs externality and Porter externality on economic growth presents a U-shaped relationship. From a regional perspective, the impact of industrial agglomeration effect heterogeneity on economic growth is relatively consistent, but the degree of impact is significantly different from the significance. The fifth is the study of the impact of the heterogeneity of industrial agglomeration on economic growth.Three representative variables(population size, geography): manufacturing agglomeration index, productive service industry agglomeration index, manufacturing and production service industry synergy aggregation index,MAR externality,Jacobs externality,Porter externality and spatial heterogeneity The cross-item of the location and administrative level is the core variable, and empirically examines the effect of the heterogeneity of industrial agglomeration on economic growth. The results show that the larger the urban population, the more obvious the role of manufacturing agglomeration and productive service agglomeration in promoting economic growth. The synergistic effect of the two agglomeration on economic growth has a special effect on the industrial agglomeration of large-scale urban population. The diversification effect has a positive effect on economic growth, but the competitive effect is a negative effect.Coastal urban manufacturing agglomeration and productive service industry have a restraining effect on economic growth. The synergistic agglomeration of the two cities has a positive effect on economic growth. The specialization effect of industrial agglomeration is positive, but the diversification effect and the competitive effect are negative effect. The agglomeration of manufacturing industry and the accumulation of productive service industries in high-level administrative cities can promote economic growth. The synergistic concentration of the two has a restraining effect on economic growth;the specialization effect and diversification effect of industrial agglomeration have positive effects on economic growth, and the competitive effect Then it is a negative effect. From a regional perspective, due to the spatial heterogeneity of population size, geographic location, and administrative level, the impact of industrial agglomeration on economic growth is quite different from that at the national level. Therefore, this paper proposes that different cities should choose different industrial agglomeration development strategies according to different spatial heterogeneity and agglomeration types. The concrete expression is: manufacturing agglomeration development should transform development mode, realize agglomeration internal structure optimization;Production service industry agglomeration should rely on supply and demand to achieve high efficiency and high quality development; The industrial cooperation agglomeration development should perfect the system and mechanism and guarantee the free circulation of resource elements;Larger population cities should combine their own advantages and should not rush to promote collaborative agglomeration;Coastal cities should optimize the industrial agglomeration structure and improve the quality of industrial agglomeration;High-administrative level cities should play the role of central cities and distinguish between promoting industrial agglomeration and development; We will actively promote coordinated development of regional space and strengthen the role of industrial agglomeration.
