Study On Behavioral Information Security And Factors Affecting Information Behavior Intention

The development of information technology has a great impact on people's daily live.The development and utilization of various information software has profoundly changed the way people behave.With the popularity of information technology in society,user information security is also facing more threats.The use of new equipment and new technologies poses more challenges for user information security protection.Multiple problems will bring more information security threats,such as equipment damage,personal information disclosure,and account theft,which significantly influences users' daily life.User information security issues are related to multiple entities,which needs cooperation from various aspects in protection process.The improvement and utilization of information security technology is the main external means to protect information security.As the main subject of producing information behavior,users' behavior is the main internal cause of information security problems.Through using information technology,users have produced various behavior types.The amount of information security problems has increased because of human error,such as lacking of information security awareness,error operating and so on.The research on the individual user behavior can fundamentally solve the information security vulnerabilities which is caused by human factors and reduce the information security risks.Therefore,researching on behavioral information security has a great significance on protecting information security.Culture is one of the main factors that affect the behavior of members in society.The differences that users show in generating information behavior are also influenced by their cultural background.Hofstede's cultural dimension theory divides culture into six dimensions from the perspective of values.It is important to study the behavioral differences of users in these six dimensions,which can help improving user information security behavior,understanding user behavior intention,and establishing an effective information security system.Comparing with foreign research,the status of related research on culture and behavioral information security mainly focus on a theoretical level,which lacks of empirical research.Therefore,based on the empirical research,this paper explores the behavioral differences of users in different cultural backgrounds,the influences of cultural dimension on behavioral information intention.Besides,this paper also puts forward relevant suggestions on the improvement of security behavior.This paper consists of six chapters.In the introduction part,it states the background and significance of this research,the status of foreign and domestic research,the research ideas and methods of this paper.In Chapter one,the main content includes the basic concept and theoretical basis.It mainly explains the related concepts of behavioral information security and cultural dimension.It analyzes the basic theories related to this research,w-hich provides a theoretical basis for the subsequent analysis on behavioral information security in different groups and the construction of cultural dimension-information behavioral intention model.In Chapter Two,it mainly analyzes the behavioral information security of enterprise employees from the perspective of cultural dimension.First,it classified the information behavior of employee into different groups according to the current research.Second,this research uses a questionnaire to collect cultural background and behavior data of the employee.It also analyzes the behavioral characteristics of employees in different cultural background.In Chapter Three,it mainly analyzes the behavioral information security of college students from the perspective of cultural dimension.First,it classified the information behavior of college students into different groups based on the authoritative research results.Second,a survey is developed in this part which is used to collect cultural background and behavior data of the students.It also analyzes the behavioral characteristics of college students which is caused by cultural difference.In Chapter Four,it mainly studies the relationship between cultural dimensions and user information behavioral intention through a empirically research.According to the existing literature and research results,it constructed a conceptual model,named cultural dimension--factors influencing the information behavior intention.The hypothesis in this model is verified through questionnaire survey and structural equation model.In Chapter Five,it mainly compares the differences of behavioral information security between enterprise employees and college students under different cultural background.It puts forward relevant suggestions on how to improve users'information behaviors from the perspective of cultural dimensions.In Chapter Six,it contains the research conclusion,research enlightenment,research limitation and future directions.The following conclusions are drawn from the analysis in this paper:(1)The dimensions of Individualism versus Collectivism and Indulgence versus Restraint have a significant impact on the behavioral information security of enterprise employees.(2)The dimensions of Uncertainty Avoidance and Indulgence versus Restraint significantly affect the behavioral information security of college students.(3)Users' information behavior intention is affected by a variety of factors.Power distance and Uncertainty Avoidance have a moderating effect on users' information behavior intention.Information behavior attitude,self-efficacy,subjective norm and information security behavior habit have a significant impact on users' information behavior intention,while Power Distance and Uncertainty Avoidance have no significant influence on behavior intention.Power Distance has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between behavior attitude and behavior intention,and the relationship between subjective norm and behavior intention.Uncertainty Avoidance has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between behavior attitude and behavior intention,while it has no moderating effect between behavior attitude and behavior intention.
