The work of ideological and political in colleges and universities is lifeline of the socialist universities with Chinese characteristics,which concerns the fundamental question about what kind of people are trained,how to train and train for whom in colleges and universities.As an important part of the ideological and political work team in colleges and universities,full-time counselors are organizers,implementer sand instructors of students' daily ideological and political education and management,who are of significant responsible for educating students,managing students and serving students,and play an important social role.Firstly,this paper reviews the development and evolution of the role of counselors,and sorts out the historical trajectory,prominent features and basic trends of the role evolution.Secondly,the role conflict of full-time counselors is studied empirically,and the factors that affect the role conflicts of counselors in colleges and universities are analyzed,based on which models for influence factors are established.Finally,the goal and principle of role conflict adjustment are clarified,and the adjustment path of the role conflict of full-time counselors is proposed.The role of full-time counselor in colleges and universities refers to a set of behavior patterns of the staff who are engaged in daily ideological and political education of students in the front line and have a specific working position in the ideological and political work of colleges and universities.Those behavior patterns follow the expectations of the party,the state,the society,the colleges,the parents,the students,and so on.The role conflict of full-time counselors is a complex problem.It is not a manifestation of unilateral role conflict,nor a simple accumulation of role conflict in various aspects,but a complex and diverse set of role conflicts.Influenced by policy factors,organizational factors and individual factors,full-time counselors are faced with intra-role conflicts that caused by different role expectations and their own limitations,as well as inter-role conflicts that are shown in relationship between educators and administrators,administrators and service providers,and educators and service providers.Our party has always attached great importance to ideological and political work in colleges and universities,especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.Ideological and political work in colleges and universities has been placed in a prominent position and a series of major decisions and arrangements were made,which provided policy guarantees and built a work platform for the team construction of full-time counselors in colleges and universities.In the intersection perspective of the ideological and political education and social psychology,the study of full-time counselor role conflict and adjustment in colleges and universities is not only an inevitable requirement for the innovation and development of the theory of role of full-time counselors,but also an objective choice of the strengthening of team construction of full-time counselors.In other words,the study of the role conflict and adjustment of full-time counselors in colleges and universities is a common requirement for the development of theory and practice.Guided by Marxism-Leninism,Mao Zedong Thought,and Theory System of Socialist Theories with Chinese Characteristics,the role conflict adjustment of full-time counselors in colleges and universities is a process of adjusting role conflict using a variety of approaches and following the law of education,the law of ideological and political work and the law of student growth.It focus on the fundamental task of building morality and cultivating people,and aims at promoting the team construction of full-time counselors in colleges and universities.The role conflict adjustment of full-time counselors defines the goals of cognitive,emotional,behavioral,and development,and emphasizes the principle of orientation,being realistic,subjectivity and innovation.There are four approaches which are emphasized to adjust the role conflict of full-time counselors in colleges and universities.Specifically:Strengthening the system guarantee and clarifying the stipulation of the role of full-time counselors;Paying attention to mirror feedback and promoting the shaping of the role practice of full-time counselors;Strengthening ontology adjustment and enhancing self-improvement of the role-playing of full-time counselors;Improving the construction of mechanism and promoting the coordination of the role realization of full-time counselors.
