Ai Siqi's Exploration And Contribution To Ideological And Political Education

Ai Siqi is an outstanding Marxist philosopher,educator,revolutionist and a loyal soldier of the Communist Party of China in the theoretical area.During his lifetime,he concentrated his service to writing,editing newspapers,administrating cultural departments and teaching from Shanghai to Yan'an and Beijing,where he devoted his life to Marxism,the theoretical propaganda and the educational cause of the Communist Party of China.It was this research field and work that made a close relation between Ai Siqi and the Party's ideological and political education career,which helped him to accumulate rich working experience in ideological and political education,as well as sublimate the theory of the Party.Taking his life as the clue,his writings as the main research data,and his ideological and political education work during the three periods in Beijing,Shanghai and Yan'an as the research object,a detailed study on Ai Siqi's contributions to the Party's ideological and political education is made systematically,so as to strengthen and improve the current ideological and political education,and provide some valuable experience and references.This thesis is composed of six parts:the introduction and five chapters.The introduction part mainly elaborates the theoretical and practical significance of the research,similar research at home and abroad,research ideas,methodologies and innovations.Chapter one is titled “ Ai Siqi and the ideological and political education of the Communist Party of China”.In this chapter,the author elaborates the connection between Ai Siqi and the ideological and political education of the Communist Party of China,and lays a foundation for the study of the ideological and political education of Ai Siqi in the following chapters.First of all,the historical origin of Ai Siqi's going to the road of the revolution leadership of the Communist Party of China is explored,where the background of his time,the family tradition,ideology and culture accumulation and the elated personal practical experience are analyzed.Secondly,with the summary of the main life experience of Ai Siqi,the close connection between Ai Siqi and the ideological and political education is revealed: the professional skills,professional works of Marxist philosophy,and his pioneering professional contribution laid the foundation for his work in the ideological and political education.As an editor of the Party's newspapers and magazines and a representative of the cultural circle,as well as a teacher and educator,he was engaged in the promotion of education,which is an important part of the ideological and political education.He is a philosopher,a theoretical propagandist and an educator,but above all,he is a loyal communist fighter amd a glorious member of the Communist Party of China.It is his loyal communist revolutionary career that made him an excellent educator in the field of ideological and political education.At the end of the chapter,his connection with the party's ideological and political education is further elaborated with discussions on some of his important ideas on the importance of the education of ideology and politics.Chapter two is “Ai Siqi's preliminary exploration and contributions to the ideological and political education in the Shanghai Period(1932-1937)”.This chapter mainly focuses on the first period of the revolution work of Ai Siqi,namely the Shanghai Period.Based on the then civil situations,the situations in Shanghai and the ideological,political and theorical tasks faced by the Communist Party of China,Ai Siqi's exploration and contributions in this period is summarized.Firstly,he published articles to reveal social political realities,promoted patriotism and made use of the positive aspects of progressive communities to spread revolutionary ideas and improve the consciousness of the masses.Secondly,Ai Siqi propagated Marxism through philosophical writings and popularized scientific knowledge through popular science articles,and promoted the ideological and political education by literary and artistic articles,thus opening up the wisdom of the masses.Thirdly,he served the mass' daily life by answering their questionss.He explained the difficulties in reality and helped the mass to build up their faith.He criticized the wrong ideas and made people open up their mind.He provided guidance for youth in reading and learning,and helped them improve their cognitive competence.In particular,his work Popular Philosophy established his position in the theoretical field in this period and also condensed his brilliant crystallization of his preliminary exploration of the ideological and political education.Popular Philosophy contains rich ideological and political education contents,shows a variety of ideological and political education methods,and has played an important role in ideological and political education.Therefore,Popular Philosophy is a classic in the history of the ideological and political educatin of the Communist Party of China.Chapter three is “Ai Siqi's exploration and contribution to the ideological and political education in the Yan'an Period(1937-1946)”.With the major theme of the era of war and revolution and with the background of the Anti-Japanese War and the Liberation War,the Party's ideological and political education faced a difficult task.Ai Siqi continued his exploration of ideological and political education and made great contributions.First of all,he promoted the chinization of Marxist philosophy through making academic interactions with Mao Zedong,expounding the chinization of Marxist philosophy,exposing and criticizing the brainwashing philosophy of the Kuomintang.Secondly,he carried out the education of fighting against Japan in order to promote the consolidation of the anti-Japanese National United Front mainly through the following aspects: breeding the confidence of defeating Japan,learning from history,as well as the influence of model characters and their spirits.Thirdly,he stressed the importance of theoretical study,researched and propagated the methods,discussed the methods to assist the rectification of Yan'an to promote the unification of the Party's thoughts.Finally,he adapted to the development of the situation request and promoted literary works,discussed literary theories and promoted the popularization of literature and arts.As a result,he made full use of his talents in academics,editing,writing and literature,and contributed his efforts to the Party's ideological and political education work.Chapter four is titled “The deep exploration and contribution to the ideological and political education in Beijing(1949-1966)”.Based on the analyses of the global conditions,national conditions and the status of the Party after the founding of the People's Republic of China,this chapter analyzes Ai Siqi's ideological and political education work in Beijing from three aspects.Firstly,he researched and propagated Mao Zedong's philosophical thoughts,and made interpretations of the classic philosophy in Marx'and Engels' works.He criticized the idealist philosophy,and continued the study of Marxist philosophy.Secondly,he carried out the education of the ideological theory of the Party cadres' education by guiding the ideological reforms of party members and cadres by taking on the theoretical teaching task of the cadre trainees and by focusing on the theory teaching of “scholars' class”.In the end,he committed to the ideological and political education from all walks of life by focusing on the ideological and theoretical accomplishment for ascension of the youth,attaching great importance to the ideological reforms of intellectuals,and promoting the philosophical study climax of the masses.Chapter five is titled “The historical experience and realistic revelation of Ai Siqi's exploration of the ideological and theoretical education”.This chapter is a systematic summary based on the previous study.The purpose of this chapter is to summarize the thoughts,features,valuable experiences and practical inspirations of Ai Siqi's explorations so as to provide guidance for the current work of ideological and theoretical education.According to the study,Ai Siqi's exploration quests the formation of the ideological and political education with rich connotations,which involes ideological and political educators and education objects,the main contents of ideological and political education and ways and methods,and therefore is of unique value.Moreover,Ai Siqi always carries the responsibility of ideological and political education with the principles of the Party.He always carries forward the ideological and political education purpose,explores the education path of ideological and political ideas based on the popularization of Marxism.He reveals the charms of ideological and political education with the charm of personality and forms a unique exploration path,and as a result,a valuable working experience of ideological and political education is formed: solid Marxist theory foundation is the essential accomplishment of education professionals;the real life of the masses is the foothold of the ideological and political education work;taking the charm of language is an important factor to enhance the effectiveness of ideological and political education;and the whole society should work together to promote the work of ideological and political education.The purpose of studying and summarizing Ai Siqi's exploration and contributions of the ideological and political education is to gain enlightenment from the great thoughts,and guide today's ideological and political education theory and practice.The ideological and political education work should increase the cohesive force of the Party,and ideological and political educators should aspire to become proficient experts in the ideological and political education filed,try to construct an educational mode of all-around promotion,and explore the mechanism of promoting the chinization,modernization and popularization of Marxism.
