With the continuous development of the Cold War,the status of the Southeast Asia in the Asia-Pacific security pattern become prominent,being an important venue for the game between the security forces of the two superpowers of the United States and the Soviet Union.The constant involvement of the United States in the security pattern in Southeast Asia and the continued decline in the deployment of security forces in the region during the Cold War reflect the fact that the US decision-making level has adopted changes in the challenging forces and strengths of the region during different historical periods.The changes in the corresponding policies and measures are aimed at maintaining the stability of the security pattern in Southeast Asia and the U.S.national security interests in this region during the Cold War.The security pattern of Southeast Asia was dominated by the games of the major powers during the Cold War.In the evolution process,the relationship between the security game of the big countries in Southeast Asia and the attempt of regional countries to strengthen the alliance to get rid of the interaction between the major powers has always been the main line.This dissertation focuses on the various security strategies and specific actions of the United States in shaping the security landscape of Southeast Asia during the Cold War.The main focus is on the evolution of the power structure of the security pattern in Southeast Asia during the Cold War.With the United States and the Soviet Union in the world Contrasting changes in forces and the rising power of the ASEAN countries,how the United States can transform its global influence into regional leadership in shaping the security landscape of Southeast Asia.Based on this,This dissertation further discusses how the United States responded to the impact of the socialist camp and regional integration forces of the ASEAN countries on the United States leadership in the security pattern during the latter period of the Cold War.The method adopted by the United States to shape the security pattern in Southeast Asia during the Cold War is also the focus of this study.The changes in the strategy and policy instruments of the United States in shaping the security pattern in Southeast Asia are ultimately focused on preserving US national security interests in this region.During the Cold War,centered on shaping the Southeast Asian security pattern in line with its own interests,the United States adopted a series of political,economic,and military forms for comprehensive use,which controlled the evolution of the security pattern in Southeast Asia and facilitated the realization of US national security interests.In the latter period of the Cold War,Southeast Asia gradually formed a regional security pattern characterized by the trilateral balance between the United States,China and the Soviet Union.The strategic cooperation among the three major countries combined with the participation of regional integration forces of Southeast Asian countries jointly determined the security pattern of the region during this period.
