Study On The Rhythm Of Drama Narration

Rhythm is a difficult but necessary concept to grasp.The presentation of unit changes of rhythm in dramas is part of artistic aesthetics,which is an indispensable expression means of drama creation and can stir the emotion and experience of viewers.First of all,this paper begins with the concept of rhythm,and probes into the characteristics,types and functions of it.Based on this,the four forms and rhythm changes presented in the development stages of the dramatic are further analyzed.Besides,proceeding from the two dimensions(time and space)of the dramatic art,the characteristics of both the internal and the external rhythms of the drama are expounded.Regarding the first time dimension of drama narration as the essential basis,the basic mode of drama narration is extracted and abstracted as an ideal reference for observing and studying the narrative rhythm of dramaFrom the traditional drama artistic form,the narrative rhythm of drama can be divided into two basic presentation types: written text narration and stage text narration.In general,there are three cognitive angles: the first one is the narrative rhythm and presentation in the logical relation;the second one is the narrative rhythm and the presentation in the corresponding relation when the narrative is wrong;the third is the frequency of the narrative rhythm unit.The second chapter,mainly focusing on the time dimension of narration,the realization of the narrative and the presentation of the narrative rhythm unit in the drama writing text are discussed in detail.Chapter 3 of this paper focuses on the adapted "Lonesome West" and original play "House Guest " whose characteristics in the aspect of stage narration and rhythm are analyzed from the space dimension of narration.Through the empirical research on the case,especially the study of how the actor can grasp the emotional rhythm of the character and effectively transform it into body movements,dialogues and monologue,as well as how the director carry out the plot treatment within limited time and space of the stage,furthermanifesting the uniqueness of drama as a stage art in the presentation of narrative rhythm.Finally,the paper compares the similarities and differences between dramas and novels,films and TVs based on the special theatre space and the media attribute of dramatic art to explain the rules of rhythm presensation which are different from others.
