Lexical Study Of Khoshut Dialect Of Qinghai Province

This paper is the first systematic study on the lexicon of the Khoshut dialect.There are several research papers concerning Deed Mongol(the upper Mongol)dialect,Khokhnuur dialect or Khoshut dialect.However,there are very few research materials online and no systematic study is done about Khoshut lexicon yet.This dissertation aims to analyze and study the characteristics of the lexicon of Khoshut dialect comprehensively based on the relevant academic research data and the results of field works in Qinghai province by the author.The structure and main contents are as follows:Introduction:the historical and current situation of the Mongolian nationality in Qinghai province and general introduction of Khoshut dialect and research works done on the dialect,especially on the lexicon of the dialect were introduced.The significance of the subject,research methodology and research materials were explained in this part.Part ?:Special words of Khoshut dialect was selected,classified,added phonetic notations and interpreted.Part ?:The vocabulary with Middle Mongol characteristics in Khoshut dialect of Qinghai Province were divided into groups of words retaining ancient meaning,words retaining word-formation rule of Middle Mongol and words actively used in modern Mongolian language and interpreted.Part ?:Loanwords in Khoshut dialects were divided into three groups of loanwords from Tibetan language,loanwords from Chinese language and loanwords from other languages and interpreted.Part ?:Semantic studies were done on the lexicon of Khoshut dialect from the perspective of semantic shifts,semantic connections and semantic extension.Final part:summarized and concluded the dissertation.All lexicon of Khoshut dialect was presented in alphabetical order.
