Research On The "Sub-aesthetics" In New Media Art

This paper focuses on the aesthetic characteristics of the "sub-aesthetics" in new media art from the cognitive perspective.Beginning with the explanation of the "sub-aesthetics",this paper demonstrates the basis and connotation characteristics of "sub-aesthetics" in terms of the aesthetic "non-utilitarian" features,artistic aesthetics and the concepts of media forms brought about by the changes.It analyzes the perceptual experience of behavior in aesthetics and the nerve effect of mind in detail.From the generative characteristics of aesthetic emotion and the modular features of aesthetic perception,this paper demonstrates the aesthetic characteristics of "sub-aesthetics." This paper analyzes how "embodiment" realizes the "sub-aesthetics" in new media art by the participation of aesthetic embedding,the formation of situation and the process of creation.It causes the exchanges between the media's perception in new media art and the intellectualization of aesthetic experience.It illustrates the effect of the artistic transmission of "sub-aesthetics" in new media art in terms of the relevant experimental data and artistic creation examples in the aspects of physical feelings,sensory movements,emotional experiences,etc.It sums up the new patterns of the artistic expression of carrier fusion,aesthetic spread of technology fusion and aesthetic relationship of communication and fusion in new media art.Finally,it is concluded that the aesthetic research on the "sub-aesthetics" in new media art has the trend of the digital media composition,the perceptual extension of aesthetic information,and the intelligent experience of aesthetic cognition.Introduction talks about that research background is based on the emergence and development of new media art.It shows that the current art development is more represented as the increasing of the degree of digital media of the art form carrier.The new media art generates measurable data by storing,transmitting,acceptingand transforming digital information processing,and establishes the appropriate digitized model based on the multimedia computer and Internet technology.At the same time,it combs out the development of new media art from electronic media to intelligent technology.With the increasing of the intelligent degree of digital and the wide application of artificial intelligence technology,the aesthetic transmission of new media art has new contents and forms.The research status is based on cognitive science,and systematically introduces the situation and achievements of the research on cognition psychology,cognitive aesthetics,neuroscience and new media art aesthetics.It revolves in the core concepts of cognition,psychology,aesthetics and art to explain the interdisciplinary characteristics of research on the aesthetics in new media art.The "embodiment" of cognitive science brings about the cognitive behavior of cognition psychology;cognitive aesthetics "perceptual module" develops aesthetic sense and aesthetic "non-utility";the ontology research of new media art shows that the aesthetic change is brought by digital media;neuroscience provides necessary data and experimental for the intelligent transformation of aesthetics.This shows that the aesthetic research of new media art must be a combination of macro,logical,speculative aesthetic research and empirical approach to psychological research.We should break the disciplinary barriers and achieve interdisciplinary theoretical integration.The first chapter is the connotation and foundation of the “sub-aesthetics." As for he connotation of the " sub-aesthetics " interpretation: first of all,from the aesthetic study of art media,it explains that aesthetics is the process of people's fancy for the content of a thing and its formation;then they build some kind of consciousness on the basis and perceive the form of the thing.Therefore,the aesthetic sense of artistic works is mainly embodied in the relationship between the art content and the media form,following the aesthetic cognitive process of " form-perception-emotion." At the same time,it is said that the media form is the main cognitive object of artistic aesthetics,and the main source of aesthetic creation of artistic works in terms of Bosanquet's form-media theory and Clive Bell's art form theory.To explain the relationship between digital art media and aesthetic perception,it shows thatnon-aesthetic factors have an important influence on aesthetic extension and promotion in the context of digital media.Therefore,this paper puts forward the concept of " sub-aesthetics." It emphasizes that the non-aesthetic factors are not only the physiological pleasure experience of aesthetic individual,but also enhance the aesthetic transmission and acceptance in the process of aesthetic appreciation in the new media works.It also points out that the function of " sub-aesthetics " in new media art is to connect other information perception channels with aesthetic activities,and finally to construct the display of situational art,which strengthens the aesthetic information of new media art and enhances the degree of aesthetic cognition experience.And it talks about the foundation of “sub-aesthetics" from its three aspects of cognitive basis,mental basis and aesthetic basis.Firstly,it explains the cognition research basis of "sub-aesthetics" from the aspect of cognitive science.From the perceptual experience of aesthetic behavior and the nerve effect of mind,the cognitive basis of the existence of "sub-aesthetics" is stated.It illustrates that cognition is the processing of perceptual information,and thought is the expression of cognition;the exchange and match of all kinds of information in people's memory;and the intelligent activity of individual mind's reaction to human society.Secondly,,it shows that any perceptual activity corresponds to the relevant cranial nerve foundation from the perspective of mental response,and quotes the data of intelligence and neural energy of Newell,Simon,Rumelhart,Mc Clelland and Holbach,and explains the relationship between perception and cranial nerves in cognitive experience.Meanwhile,the relationship between the neural region and the mechanism reaction of aesthetic activity is indicated by Stephen Brown's and Zeki's data of aesthetic brain activity.It shows that aesthetic activity is the activity of perceiving and generating the pleasure of the external form of things,and aesthetic cognition is the process of information processing accompanying with aesthetic experience and judgment.Finally,the aesthetic value of "sub-aesthetics" is considered from the generative trait of aesthetic emotion and the modular feature of aesthetic perception.Through the interpretation of the aesthetic occurrence theory of cognitive aesthetics,it is concluded that aesthetic feeling is an activity that sensesthe external form information and creates a sense of pleasure by the brain's intelligence.The importance of modular recognition to aesthetic experience shows that the selection result of aesthetic perception is the matching result of cognitive module.Aesthetic cognition module is the aesthetic reaction process resulting from the perception of the external form of things.The second chapter is the aesthetic cognition of the "sub-aesthetics" and"embodiment." Firstly,it explains the meaning and characteristics of the cognitive concept of "embodiment".According to the “embodiment” theory of three cooperative related propositions: " physique,psychology,environment",it is thought that "embodiment" cognition contains the body cognition including brain,the cognitive individual's body physiology structure,activity.,feeling and the movement experience and other factors.And it explains through the two aspects: perception for action and meaning from the body that "embodiment" cognition has the hierarchical relationship that brain is embedded in the body,and the body is embedded in environment.Secondly,the "aesthetic generation" theory of cognitive aesthetics,Husserl's mind-body proposition,Merleau-Ponty's "embodiment subjectivity",Piaget's epistemology and interactive construction theory,Lakoff and Johnson's physiology structure and cognition relation theory and other theories explain the change of aesthetic mode from " still minded " to "embodiment" cognition.The biggest difference between the aesthetic cognition and the aesthetic still minded is that the traditional aesthetic study regards aesthetic cognition as the "perception" or"sublimation" of the body,while the "embodiment" aesthetics puts cognition in the whole background of environment and body and emphasizes the shaping and influence of aesthetic effect.Besides,through the "embodiment" effects research on body physical feelings,cognitive movement and emotional experience,it states the research on the transmission characteristics of the "sub-aesthetics" in new media art.Finally,through the aesthetic integrative participation,situational construction,and process of formation,the "embodiment" aesthetic understanding realizes the“sub-aesthetics" in new media art.The "sub-aesthetics" in new media art provides the necessary cognitive experience channel for the "embodiment" aesthetics,whichis realized through the construction of situational perceptual information.It emphasizes the multiple channels of perceptual information sources and the response of body movements,and deepens the depth and breadth of aesthetic cognition experience with the experience of rational pleasure.The third chapter is the study of the characteristics of the "sub-aesthetics" in new media art.Firstly,it points out that under the characteristics of "sub-aesthetics",new media art patterns can be specifically understood as the carrier of artistic expression and the technology fusion of art communication.It shows that the aesthetic cognitive information of the new media art is not mechanical,static and explicit,but a dynamic process of aesthetic cognition.The participation degree of individual's "embodiment" determines the degree of aesthetic cognition.Secondly,it reveals that the new media art under the characteristics of "sub-aesthetics" realizes the change of aesthetic mode in these three aspects :the fusion of the aesthetic perceptual expression,the aesthetic intelligent experience,and aesthetic relationship.Starting from the relationship between media and aesthetic individual perception,combining with Mc Luhan's media concept,the digital media in new media art has broken through the original single sensory perception and embodied a new aesthetic experience of comprehensive perception.And the intelligence of aesthetic experience is to show that aesthetic perception in new media art is based on the complex and diverse technical media,and uses the intelligent media as the carrier to integrate the human aesthetic thinking and artistic perceptual thinking into one strong digital art form.It shows that the artistic language with obvious situational characteristics and the unique art way establish an esthetic relation between the works and the audience,thus also form the esthetic transformation in new media art.The fourth chapter is the trend of aesthetic research in new media art under the characteristics of "sub-aesthetics".Considering with the new content,direction and method of aesthetic research from the horizons of cognitive science,it illustrates the four aspects of the aesthetic research of new media art under the characteristics of "sub-aesthetics" : the forming trend of the digital media of aesthetic objects;theconstruction trend of the extension of aesthetic information perception;the intelligent experience trend of aesthetic cognition;the scientific path trend of aesthetic study.The forming trend of the digital media of aesthetic objects,through the digital dynamic works of Shanghai World Expo and the intelligent software of mobile phone terminal,emphasizes that aesthetic research should pay attention to the research of media characteristics of art form;the construction trend of the extension of aesthetic information perception through the "sensory turn" of new media art,illustrates that under the "sub-aesthetics" in new media art,aesthetic research does not only pay attention to the participation of aesthetic individual's body structure,nerve structure,sensory and movement system,but also involves the concrete feeling,direct experience,individual experiences and other embedded researches at cognitive experiential level;the intelligent experience trend of aesthetic cognition states that the aesthetic research of new media art should pay attention to the perceptual mode of the individual based on the increasing proportion of new media art creation through intelligent technology,and establish the aesthetic relationship between individual embodiment participation and the interaction of artistic works through the cognitive experience of cranial nerves,body structure and situational space environment;the scientific path trend of aesthetic study explains the scientific research on the object,scope,paradigm,method,viewpoint and theoretical form of new media art aesthetics,and expounds that the scientific research of new media art should pay attention to the new trend of contemporary aesthetics research.
