Crowdfunding:A New Sensible Form Of Capitalism | | Posted on:2019-11-29 | Degree:Doctor | Type:Dissertation | | Country:China | Candidate:Y H Liu | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:1365330545490256 | Subject:Art theory | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | This paper addresses the overall transformation of crowdfunding and the socialeconomic-cultural culture projected by it is the object of study. It not only treats it as purely a phenomenon in the economic or technological field, but also regards it as the main part of the development of platform capitalism. The paper emphasizes that the current global accumulation of capital seems to have found a new mechanism in the form of crowdfunding,to overcome its opponents, persuading the global citizenry to become potential investors, sponsors and participants of a common ideal, and producers under a Post-Fordism.Immaterial labor and affective labor are reincorporated into the capitalist mode of production. This study seeks to use crowdfunding as a response to popular dialectics of contemporary left,in particular the Empire Trilogy of Negri and Hardt. The first chapter describes the potential threats to the dreams of the multitude(theories and realities)and how platform-based crowdfunding has become a real attraction to our socio-economic relations. The second chapter focuses on the shift from commodities to projects, referring to commodities as ideal engines, and points out how this new structure and procedure shields fetishism and allows people to temporarily pull away from the relationship of objects,as a means of making them believe that they are instead gaining a relationship with humans. The third chapter follows this analysis to elaborate how the windows from the Arcade Street in Paris to the windows of desktop computers and mobile devices attract our eyeballs and become “site traffic”.Causing the seemingly infinite, broad network world and the physical world to essentially form a tenant structure, and become a source of profit for monopolies. The fourth chapter deals with the opportunities and predicaments of Immaterial labor, analyzing how the collective of people we thought to be free became a part of the celebration of atypical labor. The fifth chapter deals with the identity structure of the cyber world, and studies how people become the world’s stockholders rather than citizens, and envelop themselves in a homogenous circle of friends.Chapter 6 boldly describes the current status of the "platform society” to verify the above analysis. The entire text describes a global experiment as a challenge to platform capitalism and "platform society," and proposes four preparatory programs to platform cooperation;treating crowdfunding as a living specimen to understand the network as a new organizational form. The subject of this paper is to identify the new control techniques of capitalist iterations in network scenarios, and to discuss whether or not the resistance as an aspect of political life is still significant. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Crowdfounding, New sensible, Multitude, Empire, Immaterial Labor, Platform capitalism | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
