Negri and Hardt’s theories of multitude contain three core keywords: “Empire”,“Immaterial labor” and “Multitude”,The logic of the theory is that “biopolitics” of the multitude oppose the “biopower” of capital.Connecting the theoretical logic of Negri and Hardt with the latest reality of contemporary digital capitalist society,and found out connections on “Empire” and “Digital Empire”,“Immaterial Labor” and“Digital-Labor”,and “Multitude” and “Digital Multitude”.On the whole,the idea of“biopower vs biopolitics" is transformed into the idea of "digital biopower vs digital biopolitics".It can be found that within the digital empire,the biopower of capital monitors,squeezes and exploits social individuals based on digital labor under the digital platforms and metaverse,and also attempts to overcome the capitalist overproduction crisis through technologies such as intelligent algorithms;About the digital multitude,it is found that the multitude in the physical form and the multitude in the form of "virtual bodies" can be fully connected and communicated in the data network,and the data exchange and emotional cooperation deepen the resistance and cooperation of the multitude.nature and provide a realistic and feasible path choice for the revolution of multitude.Although the confrontational framework analysis of “digital biopower vs digital biopolitics” is conductive to a deeper understanding of the current social capital power and a deeper prospect for the revolutionary union at this stage.From the scientific perspective of historical materialism,it is not difficult to find that it has fundamental theoretical flaws and erroneous inferences of reality,which must be re-identified.In terms of digital biopower,digital empire is just a cover for digital imperialism,and the huge digital divide still reflects the gap between developed countries and backward countries;immaterial labor,including digital labor,it is not divorced from the whole of Marx’s labor theory of value framework;intelligent algorithms have not really overcome the inherent crisis of private ownership of capitalist production;Secondly,about digital biopolitics,digital virtual body is only an extension of real subject practice in digital network,digital biopolitics ignores the essence of capital capacity about absorbing general intelligence,the fact of social substantive inequality,the irrational factors of the existence of real people,and the lack of realistic organizational strategies also doom the union of the masses into a utopian fantasy. |
