The published collections of ancient seal impressions make its model in seal engraving practice,meanwhile to effect seal engraving taste in reverse,making the wide range popularizing of seal engraving by scholar artists.This paper containing several studies based on published collections of ancient seal impressions and seal engraving by scholar artists in Wanli Era Ming Dynasty.Through analysis of published collections of ancient seal impressions in Ming Dynasty,he may draw the outline of ancient seal collections in Late Ming Dynasty.Transiting by Wen’s father and son,the paper try to explain the spreading of seal taste in Wumen scholar circle,which leading to the publishing of collections of ancient seal impressions.This paper focuses on four questions: Fristly,published collections of ancient seal impressions in Wanli Era Ming Dynasty;secondly,ancient seal collections in Late Ming Dynasty;thirdly,taste popularizing of Wen’s father and son;fourth,the role of Yin Sou and seal engravers from Huizhou to the progress of seal engraving.This paper also discusses woodcutting taste in carving publication and the connection between Hermit and liquor.
