| The discussion of the relationship between literature and icon is always the hot topic of the literary theory and literary criticism.In short words,the center of the relationship between literature and icon is the relationship between language and icon.It is not only the basic of the study of literary theory,but also the theoretical precondition of the current literary ideographic practice.With the development of science and technology and the media,it changed a lot in the way of aesthetic significant,and the idea on cultural consumption.There emerged electronic books,hypertext,the television adaptation,online games and icon-text of new media which enriched current literary ideographic system.They expended the theoretical horizon of literary ideographic system,what’s more is it created a new historical stage of the study of the relationship between literature and icon.There are many researches on the relationship between literature and icon in 21 century.But,with the traditional influence,the researchers are always take their focus on the classical text of traditional literary and artistic practice in order to construct the rational thinking of the relationship between literature and icon which just constructed the general discussion from the macro perspective.Firstly,many researchers did not know much about current literary ideographic practice,so it is difficult for them to find the new feature and tendency.Secondly,many researchers pay little attention about current literary ideographic practice,and ignore the important of literary ideographic practice which could construct the theory system of literature-icon relation,although there are many researches on this theory.Thirdly,we have to confront the challenge of summing up the new media literature-icon relation systematically in the context of development of icon media.And therefore,when the researchers of contemporary literature discuss the relationship of literary icon in the context of new media,they always rely on the historical context and symbolic relation.They ignore the achievement of contemporary new media literary practice which expands the theory of language-icon relation,and makes a bitter divide between the study of literary theory and literary ideographic practice,what we call it "rupture" here.The fossilization and conservation of discourse system,critical paradigm,and the way of thinking lead the study of literary theory and literary ideographic practice to be the "marginalized" being.Although some researches touch the core of literary ideographic practice,but they just scratch the surface of the problem because of the lack of theory summarization.In the view of this condition,this thesis will pay more attention to the context of contemporary Chinese literary ideographic practice in the dimension of synchrony and diachrony in order to explore the relationship of language and icon deeply of the new media literary ideographic practice.With the intervention of new media and new technology,it changed a lot in the language-icon system of contemporary literary ideographic practice,especially the icon symbol.They become the mechanical drawing icon which depends on mechanical replication and the digital drawing icon which depends on computer.New media are the carrier of mechanical drawing icon and digital drawing icon.In this case,the function of new media icon has changed from imitation of literary signification to the self-reference of signification,from represent of "visual icon"in literature to performative icon which lead the readers to respond.The nature of literature must change in the context,and the aesthetic feature of new media literature will emerge with the consideration of language-icon relation.In this case,this thesis will explore the dimension of new media literary ideographic practice according to discuss the key issues such as "text-icon","the text of language and icon","the whirlpool between language and icon",and"inter-sexuality between language and icon".In the introduction,we will summarize the context of "New Media",research status,major research area,the value of the thesis,and our method,innovation and shortage,and then we will introduce the main object of the thesis,the issue of literary signification in new media age.In first chapter,we will check the history of ideographic relation,especially the particular expression of the general pattern and language-icon relation of literary ideographic practice in order to reveal the influence of literary evolution,and establish the right research idea and thinking which will provide the theory reference for the thesis.In second chapter,we will discuss the "new change" of ideograph in the process of creation,communication and reception in new media literature of Internet.And then we will explore the transformation of "transboundary",narrative seaming,and semantic interaction in ideographic practice.This chapter will discuss the visual ideographic structure of literary website and the feature of icon-text integration of e-books,and the transboundary seaming of language-icon,in order to get an theoretical summary of the issue of literary ideographic visualization in the context of new media.In chapter three,this thesis will explore the diagram of literary signification and icon reference which based on the visual icon and "language-icon text",and reveal the change law of linguistic symbol.This chapter will analysis the adaptation of television,the issue of language-icon relation in online game and new media"icon-text",and reveal the whirlpool between language and icon between literary theme and icon adaption which will expand the theoretical area of contemporary literature criticism.In chapter four,we will discuss "the visualization of language-text","self-reference of language-icon text","narrative seaming and semantic gap of language-icon symbols" and "performative of new media icon".We will also construct the symbolic model of the study of inter-sexuality between language and icon.At the same time this chapter will sum up the multiple relationships between contemporary literary creation and icon signification in order to construct the system of critical discourse of literature-icon relation in the context of new media.In the last chapter,we will consider "the inter-sexuality between language and icon" of new media literary signification as a kind of critical model.Through the reviewing of evolution of freehand icon,mechanical drawing icon and digital drawing icon,I hope we can construct the critical paradigm of language-icon symbol of contemporary literary theoretical research based on humanistic concern and literature-based idea.All in all,new media literary signifying practice includes all aesthetic feature of each history of language-icon relation.From the combination of language and icon to the harmonious narrative,semantic paradox,signified combination of language-icon inter-text,and the exceeding of language-icon relation,the evolution of language-icon relation is the changing history of aesthetic represent and ideographic forms of literature of the system of human mind.By the utilization of language-icon symbol,"the thesis-antithesis-synthesis" law of language-icon relation reveals the dynamic delayed,spiraling,and closing signified process of the produce of literary aesthetic meaning. |
