Research Of Theory And Treatment Rules Of Dementia On The Basis Of Traditional Chinese Medicine Literature

Objective: This research analyzed the source,the pathogenesis and the treatment of the dementia disease by combing the ancient Chinese medical literature which were related to dementia.Besides,The study revealed the law of TCM diagnosis and treatment,in order to provide more thoughts and methods for modern clinical medicine.Method: This research established a series of key words in the light of the definition of dementia and mild cognitive impairment.Based on these key words,the related documents in electronic library Zhong Hua Yi Dian would be exported to check with ancient literature books and CNKI.Then,according to the Chinese historical period,the source,the pathogenesis and the treatment of the dementia disease would be analyzed to reveal some rules.These articles which conformed the inclusion criteria were chosen and separated valid entries out to build database by statistical methods.Finally,the medicals,the formulas and acupuncture points which were helpful to dementia had be analyzed by TCM theory.Result: This research incorporated 215 related ancient articles,which involved 53 classic books.According to the statistical results,there were four single used Chinese medicinals to treat the forgiveness syndrome.Those were Horse’s Heart,Euphorbiae Fischerianae Radix,Poriae Pararadicis Sclerotium,as well as Spider ’s Web.And These were all high frequently used.But,The single Chinese medicinal,which could treat dementia was very rare.Only Cinnabaris showed just one time.There were nineteen formulas which could treat forgiveness,and eight of them were used above average.Those were Resistance Decoction,Poria pill,Zhen Xin Pill,Da Ba Feng Pill,Ding Zhi Pill,Qi Qi Pill,Wu Ye Pill,and Polygalae Decoction.There were twenty-two formulas which could treat dementia,and six of themare used above average.Those were Xing Mi Zhi Bao Elixir,Fu Man Decoction,Li Xiang Powder,Dao Tan Kai Guan Power,Dian Kuang Pi Li Powder and Celestial EmperorHeart-Supplementing Elixir.There were six acupuncture points which could treat forgiveness,and three of them were high frequently used.Those were Yong Quan,Tian Fu and Lie Que.There were twenty-three acupuncture points which could treat dementia,and four of them were high frequently used.Those were Shen Men,Da Zhong,Bai Hui,and Gui Yan.Conclusion: 1.The name of Shan Wang and Xi Wang were firstly seen in The Yellow Emperor ’s Inner Classic,which was wroten before Qin Dynasty.In Song Dynasty,Amnesia and dementia were completely separated.Independent Chapters of dementia was begun to appearance in The Complete Works of Jing-yue and Pattern Differentiations Records which was written in Ming and Qing Dynasty.2.Through reviewing and exploring of the ancient literature,the Etiology and disease mechanism of dementia syndrome usually related to many factors,such as abnormal emotions,disordered viscera and bowels,as well as disharmony of qi,blood and fluids.The treatment of dementia syndrome usually based on a few principles,for example,supplementing qi and nourishing the heart,warming and supplementing the spleen and stomach,dissolving phlegm,invigorating blood and dissolving stasis.3.This research concluded some single used Chinese medicinal,formula and acupuncture points.Many of those drugs had the efficacy of body supplementing and boosting,qi rectifying,phlegm eliminating to open the orifices,and blood invigorating to dissolve stasis.Those acupoints were from Heart meridian of Hand Shaoyin and Kidney meridian of Foot Shaoyin.The research provided thoughts and experience for modern Chinese Medicine scientific researches and clinical works.Meanwhile,the study of Chinese ancient literature reflected great value in enriching the theory and practice of prevention and treatment of dementia nowadays.
