A Study Of Ancient Documents On The Clinical Application Of Hand Jing Points

Purpose:We have reviewed on the ancient literatures of the use of hand Jing-well acupoints in acupuncture treatment,so as to explore its attending diseases and application principles.This may provide literature evidence of illustrating the theories of hand Jing-well acupoints and its clinical attending diseases.We tend to provide guidance and implications for the related clinical treatment and research by concluding the hand Jing-well acupoints' clinical compatibility with other acupoints.Material and method:Combining the methods of literature review and statistics analysis,to analyse Hegu acupoint application principles and compatibility features.Results:In the related ancient literatures,we have found 2205 items,of which 469 items about shaoshang acupoint's attending diseases and compatibility.The number of items of other hand Jing-well acupoints like Shangyang,Zhongchong,Guanchong,Shaochong,Shaoze,respectively is 274,226,373,449,414.The clinical treatment range of acupoints above cover internal medicine,otolaryngology,gynecology,pediatrics,ophalology,surgery,etc.Conclusion:1.Hand Jing-well acupoints is charactereized by both universal and peculiar in clinical practice,since the close relationship with brain it can be used in otolaryngology disease to clear the heat of the organs on the head and face.The function of each hand Jing-well acupoint is as follows: Shaoshang can open throat.Shangyang can enhance ear hearing function.Zhongchong can clear heart heat and open heart spirit.Guanchong can clear heat and maintain the liquid to moist the mouth.Shaochong can warm the heart.Shaoze can clear heat and open the five sense organs on head.2.The zang disease which governs by the hand Jing-well acupoints means not only the zang that meridian belongs to with related hand Jing-well acupoints on.The diseased zang-fu that can be cured with hand Jing-well acupoints also including both of the meridians and its exterior or interior meridians with related hand Jing-well acupoints governed by.This is the prove of disease can be cured with the acupoints on the meridians which pass by it.3.Each hand Jing-well acupoint has its own specialty like Shaoshang for night blindness,Shangyang for decayed toothache in the below,Zhongchong for infantile convulsions and night cry,Guanchong for dark face and inner canthus pain.Shaochong can cure qi deficiency cold phlegm,sudden intermittent cold and fever,hot feeling and spicy sour taste in mouth and throat,yellow eyes,sorrow and frightend.Shaoze can be used in treating pterygium,acute mastitis and sores,etc.4.The single hand Jing-well acupoint has the function of clearing heat to open the five sense organs and heart spirit in acute disease,while the larger-range chronic disease can be cured with the compatibility of hand Jing-well acupoints with other acupoints through the theory of Jing-well acupoints' governing zang-fu,balancing yin-yang,cold-heat and stimulating the smooth circulation of meridian qi.
