Background and Purpose Acute respiratory tract infections(ARTI)is one of the most common infectious diseases, which can be characterized as high incidence, fast spreading, and significant seasonal epidemics.Virus infection is the major cause leading to acute respiratory infections. The clinical manifestations and prognosis are related to the biological characteristics of pathogens as well as the host immune conditions. To screen virus types and analyze clinical manifestations may help early diagnosis and timely treatment.Materials and Methods1.Samples were collected from December 2014-February 2016 in Ruijin Hospital, emergency room, and inpatient ward of Respiratory Department, fever emergency room of hosiptal.Patients with suspected as acute respiratory viral infections were asked to take throat swab and sputum specimens.2.Using multiple fluorescent RT-PCR method for common respiratory viruses(Influenza A Virus,Influenza B Virus,Respiratory Syncytial Virus a,b,Parainfluenza Virus,Small RNA Virus,Human Metapneumovirus,Human Adenovirus Virus,Human Boca Virus).3.Each virus' s epidemiology and clinical characteristics, radiological findings were analyzed.Conclusion1.Virus Detection Rate: From December 2014-February 2016 a total of 389 respiratory swabs and sputum samples were analyzed,of which a total of 108 samples detected positive, the total detection rate is 27.76%.FluA(68.52)was the dominant microorganism detected, followed by IBV,accounting for 13.89%,RSVa(8.33%),CoV(4.63%),a small RNA viruses(2.78%),PIV(1.85%),and finally HMPV2.(0.93%).Each virus detection rate is associated with the season, regardless of age and gender.3.Clinical manifestations: Clinical manifestations of various viral infections are different:Mainly fever, cough, sore throat and dizziness, fatigue and other symptoms.IAV,IBV,RSVa,HCoV,a small RNA virus,PIV,HMPV mainly present upper respiratory tract infection symptoms,IBV can presents lower upper respiratory tract infection symptoms.4.Blood routine test changes of each virus infections: IAV,IBV infected patients presented with normal white blood cells, while RSVa and HCoV infected patients both have higher proportion.Meanwhile, the percentage of neutrophils increased in each group, and the percentage of lymphocytes decreased.5.Radiology of virus infection: Different viral infections got different radiological findings, which may help differential Diagnosis. And chest CT got higher specificity compared with chest X-ray.6.Discussion of deaths: In this study, five patients died, who were old and got more complications, age, complications and late treatment are risk factors for severe pneumonia and death.
