Objective:To systematic study the understanding and application on the theory of the nature and flavor of Ye Tian-shi,and inductive its rules.To explore the application system of syndrome differentiation about the theory of the nature and flavor of Ye Tian-shi.Methods:Base on the thoughts of document sorting and theoretical exploration,to screen the related writings of Ye Tian-shi and excavate them systematically,seek the understanding and analyze the specific application as well as summarize its rules of the theory of the nature and flavor of Ye Tian-shi.Results:1.Through comprehensive analysis of all the writings of Ye tian-shi,pointed out that it is necessary to pay attention to the study of the medical records.There are changes in the docket,discussing the drug odor can not follow its order,and the smell which discussed is different from specific drug use.2.According to the original meaning of Ye Tian-shi,comprehensive analysis its application to the five flavor theory.Including the specific application of sweet?pungent,and pungent-bitter in the external febrile fever?miscellaneous internal damage diseases.And the specific application of bitter?sour-bitter?salty-bitter?sour?salty?sour-salty?mild.And summarizes the theory of Huangdi Neijing mentioned in the writings of Ye Tian-shi.3.To summarize the rules of the application of the theory of the four natures.Distinguish the cold and warm nature of disease,identify the nature of Yin and Yang,and identify the exterior and interiorof the location of disease,the level of defense-qi-construction and blood pattern,the difference of constitution and zang and fu,the deficiency and excess of the healthy qi and the pathogenic pathogens.The nature of cold and cool is suitable for febrile diseases,but needed to examine the states of physical,and preventing cold congealing,wrestling with drugs of warm and heat in nature sometimes.4.To induce the application rule of aromatic flavor.The aromatic flavor can dispel and avert the pathogenic pathogens of the turbidity,to open theorifices and promote the function of the spleen and stomach,and treat the diseases of the collateral vessel.To clarify the the application rule of pungent-aromatic,including avert the pathogenic pathogens of the turbidity,to promote the operation of qi and the function of the middle energizer,to eliminate the struck of the collateral vessel,and the pungent-moisten drugs have the function of warm-tonification.5.To summarize the rules of the application of the nature and flavor of Ye Tian-shi,and explore the application system of syndrome differentiation about the theory of the nature and flavor of Ye Tian-shi.Ye Tian-shi used the smell theory,based on the theory of Yin and Yang and the theory of five elements.The theory of the nature and flavor of Ye Tian-shi is based on the cognition and application of the theory of the nature and flavor of Huangdi Neijing,Sheng Nong's herbal classic,Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Diseases,and Liu He-jian,Li Dong-yuan,Yu Jia-yan,and so on.Including the rules of the application of the nature and flavor in the external febrile fever,mainly according to the syndrome differentiation of triple energizer,combined with the theory of defense-qi-construction and blood pattern identification.When the disease is in the weifen syndrome of upper energizer,used the pungent flavour with light weight,used bitter cold when it is weifen syndrome,used salty cold when it is yingxue syndrome,used sweet flavour when the the body fluid is deficiency.When the disease is in middle energizer,used pungent-bitter cold,and used warm drugs when ti is damp evil.When the disease is in lower energizer,used salty-bitter cold,and used sweet-salty cold when the fluid is deficiency.And generalize the rules of the application of five-flavor theory in the miscellaneous internal damage diseases,used the pungent flavour when ti is obstructed of the qi and blood,used the bitter flavour to clear heat and dry dampness,used the sweet flavour when the right-Qi is deficiency,used the sour flavour to retain yin with astringent and restrict the liver qi,used the salty flavour when the disease is in lower energizer,used the sour flavour to remove dampness and circulate the qi activity,and to cure complicated pathogenesis need the compatibility with various the nature and flavors.Conclusion:Under the influence of the unity of man and man,using the theory of five flavors based on the five element theory,and the theory of four natures based on the Yin-Yang theory,to adjust the unbalance of yin and yang of the body and the inharmonious of the viscera.According to the theory of Huangdi Neijing and Zhang Zhong-jing,Ye Tian-shi laied emphasis on the theory of the nature and flavor in the treatment based on syndrome differentiation and used flexibly,created new theory,combine with own experiences,developing a individually academic theoretical system of the theory of the nature and flavor.
