abdominal pain,burbulence,increased times of defaecation and total score(P<0.01).?Comparison of TCM syndromes:according to statistical analysis of TCM syndromes in the two groups,there are significant differences in the symptoms of borborygmus,abdominal distension,inappetence,and mental exhaustion in the treated group after treatment(P<0.05).In the control group,there were only significant differences in the symptoms of abdominal pain,borborygmus,inappetence and lethargy after treatment(P<0.05),while there were significant differences between the other symptoms and the total score after treatment and that before treatment(P<0.01).The treated group was significantly better than the control group in terms of defaecation,abdominal distension and abdominal pain,fatigue and lethargy,sallow complexion and total score(P<0.01).?Regarding serum brain peptide level,SP level of patients in the treated group significantly decreased after treatment,with significant difference(P<0.01).The control group was lower than before treatment(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the difference of SP level in the treated group was statistically significant(P<0.01).After treatment,the VIP level of patients in the treatment group decreased significantly,with significant difference(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in the control group between pre-treatment and posttrestment(P>0.05).Compared with the control group,the difference of VIP level in the treated group was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the 5-ht level of both groups significantly decreased,with significant difference(P<0.01).Compared with the control group,the change of 5-ht level in the treated group was of statistical significant(P<0.01).?Comparison of IBS-SSS score and IBS-QOL score before and after treatment between the two groups:before treatment,IBS-SSS score and IBS-QOL score of the two groups were compared without statistical significance(P>0.05).After treatment,the IBS-SSS scores and IBS-QOL scores of both groups decreased compared with those before treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The IBS-SSS scores and IBS-QOL scores of the treated group were lower than those of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05,P<0.01).? Effective rate:among the 30 patients in the treated group,22 cases(73.3%)had apparent results,6 cases(20.0%)had effective results,and 2 cases(6.7%)had no effects,with a total effective rate of
