The traditional barrel-managed calf breeding method is cumbersome and has low automation,and the existing mechanized feeding method cannot achieve efficient feeding and fine management of calf.However,according to the production practice of calf feeding,a general scheme of feeding system is put forward,which is suitable for intelligent calf feeding.Through theoretical analysis,simulation and experiment,the key components of feeding system such as storage device,conveying device and mixing device are developed,and the control system for individual automatic feeding and health monitoring is designed and developed.A new type of automatic calf feeding system with disease warning and accurate measurement of feeding quantity has been developed and validated by calf feeding experiment.Regarding he materials in the material storage device,the static analysis was carried out by using the theory of bulk mechanics.It is concluded that the critical height of the material movement of the bottom conveying device found to be lower than the overall height.The scraper is added to promote the movement of the upper layer of powder and the force is applied to the blade.Analysis and strength check;using discrete element method to investigate the influence of the tangential angle between the deflector and the feeder,the number of blades and the radius of curvature of the blade on the conveying rate and conveying stability of the material conveying process of the storage device,analysis result determined that the optimal parameter of the calf feeding machine is circular arc blade,8 in number,and the tangential angle between the deflector and the feeder at45°.Regarding the control core of the systemAM335X was used.Through the design of the hardware system of the calf feeding machine,the electrical drive of the mechanical part of the calf feeding machine was realized,which ensures the safety of signal transmission and the efficiency of data transmission.An intelligent calf feeding machine software system was designed.The developed database,the host computer,andthe data managementprogram human-computer interaction timed cleaning,sensor calibration,and self-calibration compensation functions were completed,and the identification and personalized feeding of each calf by the calf feeding machine was realized,and through the simulation system test.The cleaning system is designed by fuzzy PID control algorithm and the overshoot of the system was 7.64%,and the stable time observed at 78 s,which ensures the stable operation of the system and transplants the algorithm into the control system.The Haar cascade classifier was used to perceive the face recognition after learning and training atthe correct rate is 96.59%.Based on correlation and shape-based template matching,the identification of individual cows and the elimination of background factors were achieved.The matching rate of the algorithm resulted at 97.7%,and the matching accuracy was found to be at 98.36%.For the calf eye area extraction,the RGB color histogram of the bull's eye area is used to obtain the algorithm of healthy bull's eye detection,as wellas used to detect the calf facial disease.Regarding the performance tests of the calf feeding machine,the software system results showed that the calf feeding machine runs smoothly,at the accurate cleaning time,the database management showed no leakage,and operational temperature met the requirements of feeding and cleaning.The feeding conveyor device has uniform feeding at high blanking stability.Through the feeding tests of the calf feeding machine,the calfs slaughter at a rateof 100%,and there is no major disease problem,the feeding effect seen to be reliable,and the development of the individual'scalf is relatively average.This research has efficiently materialized the functions of systematized management of calf,real-time monitoring of calf status,uniform feed ratio,etc.Users can customize the feeding mode according to the monitoring of the feeding status of each calf to catch the real-time flexible feeding of calf.This research provides theoretical support and technical reference for the intelligent and efficient feeding and ideal management of calf,which is of great significance to the development of animal husbandry in China.
