The thesis is a systematic study on the subfamily Macropsinae(Hemiptera: Cicadellidae)from Asia-Pacific area.Firstly, the research history and current research progress of the subfamily from Asia-Pacific area is overviewed;detailed conclusion at various categories are given;phylogenetic analysis is made based on the morphology and molecular data respectively.Secondly,a brief introduction on materials and methods used in this research are presented;morphology terminology commonly used in the taxonomy and biology and economic importance of the subfamily are introduced;geographical distribution of AsiaPacific area Macropsinae are summarized and analyzed. In the third part,103 species of 16 genera,12 subgenera, including 18 new species,5 new record species,1 new homonym,1 new synonym and 2 new combinations of the subfamily Macropsinae are described as a preliminary study on the fauna of the Asia-pacific area.Keys are given to all the genera, subgenera and species included.Detailed description and photos for all the species are given;Male genitalia of all the new species, new record species and some other published species are illustrated.New taxa, new records and new combinations are listed as follows:New species(Published new species without “sp.nov.”): Macropsella recta sp.nov.;Macropsis helius sp.nov.;Toropsis minuspinus sp.nov.;Varicopsella apecurvata sp.nov.;Published new species: Hephathus dilatatus Yang and Zhang,2015;Oncopsis latusoid Yang and Zhang,2015;Oncopsis taibaiensis Yang and Zhang,2015;Pedionis dentiforma Yang and Zhang,2013;Pedionis dinghuensis Yang and Zhang,2013;Pedionis tribrachyblasta Yang and Zhang,2014;Pediopsis bannaensis Yang and Zhang,2015;Pediopsis subtilis Yang and Zhang,2016;Pediopsis thailandensis Yang and Zhang,2016;Pediopsis tripartita Yang and Zhang,2016;Pediopsoides montaninversa Yang and Zhang,2013;Pediopsoides anchorides Yang and Zhang,2014;Ruandopsis elongata Yang and Dietrich,2016;Varicopsella odontoida Yang and Dietrich,2016.New record species to China(Published new record species without “n.rec.”): Hephathus freyi(Fieber)n.rec.;Hephathus nanus Herrich-Sch?ffer n.rec.;Macropsidius niger Matsumura n.rec.;Varicopsella breakeyi(Merino)n.rec.;Published new record species: Macropsidius duuschulus Dlabola.New homonym: Macropsis gaoligongensis Li,Dai et Li nom.n.(=Macropsis robusta Li,Dai et Li,2012,preoccupied by Macropsis robusta Breakey,1932).New synonym(Published, without “n.syn.”): Macropsis wangi Li et Xu(=Macropsidius duuschulus Dlabola).New combinations(Published new combinations without “n.comb.”): Pedionis hamiltoni(Li,Dai and Li)n.comb.(=Varicopsella(Multispinulosa)hamiltoni Li,Dai and Li);Published new combinations: Macropsidius fukangensis(Li et Xu)(=Macropsis fukangensis Li et Xu).Type specimens of the new species are deposited in: Entomological Museum of Northwest A&F University(NWAFU);Illinois Natural History Survey,University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,USA(INHS);California Academy of Sciences,San Francisco,USA(CAS);Queensland Museum,Brisbane,Australia(QM)and Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden,Chiang Mai,Thailand(QSBG).Phylogenetic analysis is given based on morphology and molecular data.Based on 69 selected external morphological and male genital chanracteristics of 43 coded species, phylogenetic analysis is carried out by using the software PAUP 4.0b10 and TNT 1.5.In the molecular research section, four gene fragments of more than 40 species were extracted.Interspecific genetic divergences, statistic of codons usage, transitions(and transversions)and pairwise distances of 180 evaluated sequences were analyzed.Single gene and polygene phylogenetic trees were constructed based on the software MEGA 6.06,RaxML and Mrbayes 3.2.4.References,the world checklist of genera and species, figures, acknowledgements and CV of the author are attached at the end of this dissertation.
