Guangdong has become an important base for the spread and development of Buddhism and Taoism in Lingnan because of its unique Lingshan and profound cultural heritage.The traditional temple gardens in Guangdong are the most valuable heritage that can embody the characteristics of Lingnan metaphysics and ideology and culture.Taking artificial elements as the main body of landscape construction and natural mountains and rivers as the main body of landscape construction are the two major gardening systems of Chinese classical temple gardens.With the co-prosperity of multi-ethnic groups and the nurture of marine culture,Guangdong Temple gardening gradually presents the idea and technique of gardening with local characteristics after more than a thousand years of development and evolution on the basis of the two systems.Among them,the bold innovation of Temple View on the use of natural landforms and spatial layout can be regarded as a model.The study of space landscape design of temple gardens in Guangdong Province is an interdisciplinary and comprehensive research subject.However,as far as the current domestic research situation is concerned,the most prominent "puzzle" is: on the one hand,there are few existent gardens and literary materials,and most of them are scattered articles and works from the perspective of architectural disciplines,while the use of interdisciplinary systematic methods can cover the comprehensive research results of Liushan's water management and plant landscaping.There are few.On the other hand,although there is no unified understanding among the predecessors and follow-up scholars in the academic circles,they have roughly summarized the general style characteristics of other types of gardens in Guangdong,such as "randomness","compatibility","locality","folk","simplicity" and "implication" of private gardens,but they have not.See the discussion of the characteristics of temple gardens in Guangdong.Therefore,it is an important task to systematically study the style characteristics and manifestations of temple gardens in Guangdong,such as site selection of traditional temple gardens,utilization of environment and landform,spatial layout of buildings and gardens,and landscaping techniques.The study of space landscape design of temple gardens in Guangdong Province is an interdisciplinary and comprehensive research subject.However,as far as the current domestic research situation is concerned,the most prominent "crux" lies in: on the one hand,there are few existent gardens and literary materials,and most of them are scattered articles and works from the perspective of architectural disciplines,while the use of interdisciplinary systematic methods can cover the comprehensive research results of Liushan's water management and plant landscaping.There are few.On the other hand,although there is no unified understanding among the predecessors and follow-up scholars in the academic circles,they have roughly summarized the general style characteristics of other types of gardens in Guangdong,such as "randomness","compatibility","locality","folk","simplicity" and "implication" of private gardens,but they have not.See the discussion of the characteristics of temple gardens in Guangdong.Therefore,it is an important task to systematically study the style characteristics and manifestations of temple gardens in Guangdong,such as site selection of traditional temple gardens,utilization of environment and landform,spatial layout of buildings and gardens,and landscaping techniques.It is believed that this paper has certain reference and practical guiding significance for the inheritance of Guangdong's historical context and the design of modern gardens.
