Study On The Strategy Of Materials In The Context Of Modern Architecture

In the face of the rapid development of Chinese cities/buildings and the sudden surge of construction volume and the vigorous growth of cultural buildings,Chinese contemporary architecture is confronted with the reality,responding positively by returning to the basic problems of architecture with pragmatic pragmatism.The performance of materials has become a hot topic of subject research and practical exploration.In the diverse practice of building exploration,there are perplexities and misconceptions about material concepts and criteria.Therefore,the subject of constructing a systematic material strategy to guide contemporary architectural design practice based on the historical research related to materials is important.This paper attempts to contribute to the subject.The study takes "material strategy" as the research object and takes the "modern architecture" as the research area.Starting from the phenomenon of architectural design in contemporary China,the history of modern architecture is observed.By tracing the evolution of the material concept in the context of modern western architecture,the material strategy context is analyzed to summarizes the rules and main line.Then return to the mainland,excavating the material concept of traditional architecture to get the inspiration,and review the exploration of modern architecture in China.On the basis of historical research,combined with the practice of contemporary Chinese architecture,a systematic material strategy is constructed.The implementation process and method of material strategy are deduced and reflected from practical engineering projects.Finally,the future of material development trend is prospected.The research attempts to build the historical knowledge system related to materials strategy in modern architecture.The fog of materials practice are removed to find suitable material strategy for guiding practice at present.The thesis is divided into three parts:The first part is the theme(Chapter ? Introduction)In the first chapter,starting from the challenges faced by contemporary Chinese architecture,the subject research of returning to the basic problems of architecture and the material practice encountered in practical projects,the background of material research is analyzed.Based on the history of modern architecture in the West,this paper defines the research scope of "modern architecture" and "material strategy" as the research object and guides "material selection" as the research purpose.The second part is historical research and analysis(Chapter ? to ?)The second and third chapters take the history of material strategy in the context of western modern architecture as the research core,explore the concept evolution behind the strategy,and analyze the context of material strategy accordingly.The evolution of material concepts is traced along historical axis.Based on the historical research,the context of material strategy is analyzed from two core issues,three strategic factors and two main lines of implementation.The fourth chapter studies the material concept of Chinese traditional architecture,starting from "material selection" and summarizes the factors and architectural concepts.Reviewing the road of modern architectural exploration in China,and interpreting the practice of building materials in China.The third part is the construction strategy(Chapter ? to ?)The fifth chapter,relying on the results of historical research and analysis,formulates the effective criteria of contemporary building materials strategy and synthesizes the three internal factors of material strategy.Combining with the practice of contemporary Chinese architecture,the material strategy is constructed from three perspectives: suitable for this time,suitable for this place and blending of scenarios by human being.The sixth chapter takes three cultural architectural design practices in towns,old towns and new towns as examples,deduces and reflects on the implementation and methods of material strategies from practical projects.Finally,push back from material and pay attention to material development trend.Conclusion the paper summarizes the results of the study-the core content and innovation of material strategy research in the context of modern architecture,pointing out the shortcomings of this study,and looks forward to the future of the study.
