The theme of many the Chinese ancient city landscape paintings is realistic, demonstrating the characteristics of the local historical landscape and the relationship between the architecture and the environment, which is important for the study of ancient city scape.Suzhou is a famous historical and cultural ancient city in China, and its urban landscape elements have distinct Ming and Qing characteristics. The Riverside Scene at QingMing Festival painted by Qiu Ying of the Ming Dynasty and Gusu downtown map painted by Xu Yang of the Qing Dynasty both depict different scenes of suzhou’s urban landscape in the middle of the Ming Dynasty and the qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty by a realistic and delicate way. These have an important historical value for the study of the characteristics of suzhou’s urban landscape in the Ming and Qing dynasties in the future. This study follows the line of thinking: first, from the perspective of urban landscape design, this study established the research contents, including Urban landscape pattern,Natural and cultural landscape elements,Landscape space with activity and function, and The interfaces with landscape bottom or vertical, which exhibited the urban landscape of suzhou in Ming and Qing picture.Second,by the qualitative methods, analysis the similarties and differences of Suzhou city ladscape in Ming and Qing paints. Then, the data of quality factors are quantitatively studied by hierarchical analysis(AHP)model, which analyzed the spatial and temporal evolution of Suzhou’s urban landscape characteristics in Ming and Qing dynasties, and the formation mechanism and influence significance of such changes are summarized and summarized. The main conclusions of this study are as follows: Firstly, the two paintings reflect the characteristics of suzhou’s urban landscape in the Ming and Qing dynasties. In terms of landscape layout, space and construction, they share the common characteristics of mountains and rivers, integration of land and water, separation of the walls and urban gardening. In addition, they all reflect the landscape sequence of "open and diversified" streets and lanes in the city and "mutual causation and borrowing".Secondly, the landscape features of suzhou in the Ming and Qing dynasties also have different landscape characteristics. The Qing dynasty picture with the rich landscape pattern, has manifested the intense humanity characteristic under the commercial culture. In the Ming dynasty, the landscape pattern was simplified and emphasized the harmonious coexistence between human and nature. At the same time,it reflects the distinctive characteristics of The Qing dynasty follows the Ming dynasty of urban construction,as well as gardens, mountains, water, buildings, public spaces and green plants.Thirdly, the evolution of suzhou in the Ming and Qing dynasties is characterized by linear and unidirectional changes. The expression is that:(i)The spatial factor shows the rule that the scale changes from small to large;(ii)The boundary factor shows the change rule from relatively open to more open;(iii)The style factor shows the change rule from simple to complicated;(iv)Order factor shows the change rule from order to turbulence;(v)The color factor changes from monotonous to colorful;(vi)The overall ecological factors show the law of development and change from single to diverse, and local ecological degradation. In a word, from Ming dynasty to qing dynasty,it is actually a process of constant dynamic deduction of landscape factors.Factors are symbiotic and interdependent, which jointly promote the continuous development of urban appearance.Fourthly, this paper summarizes the forming mechanism of the change and development of suzhou’s urban landscape in Ming and Qing dynasties from three aspects of "favorable geographical position","favorable people" and "favorable time".Among them, the flourishing economic strength is the core of its dynamic mechanism.Fifthly, through the method of image interpretation, this paper studies the characteristics of ancient urban landscape with historical images and further discusses the feasibility and significance of historical image analysis for the historical protection and urbanization development of suzhou. |
