Modular design is an important development trend of current product design,and small caliber modular guns have also become a hot spot for the development of small weapons in various countries.In this paper,the researches on 5.8mm/7.62mm modular gun family were studied deeply.The main contents are indicated as follows:According to the indexs obtained by end effect analysis and interior/exterior trajectory analysis,a complete set of modular gun family was designed.The operation mode is gas operated action whose piston stroke is short.The locking is achieved through the rotary bolt.A rotary hammer is designed to fire bullets.The modular gun family includes 22 modules,and six kinds of firearms with different caliber and different type can be assembled through different modules.The numerical simulation models were established,both 5.8mm and 7.62mm caliber,and the correctness of the numerical simulation models was verified by comparing the simulation results with the experimental results.The kinetic characteristic matching of the bolt carrier,the ammunition feed matching and the ejection matching were analyzed based on the models.The matched-degree principles were built,providing a theoretical basis for the design of the small caliber modular gun family.To study the stochastic kinetic characteristics of a typical automatic mechanism,an experimental device of a reciprocating mechanism with clearances was set up,the motions of this experimental device were recorded by a high speed camera system(HSCS).Based on the experimental data,the kinetic characteristics were analyzed;a coefficient of initial pressure of gas chamber was proposed and its regularities of distribution were obtained;the stiffness coefficient and damping coefficient of counterrecoil spring were identified.The stochastic kinetic virtual prototype model of this automatic mechanism was established.The kinetic characteristics of the automatic mechanism were matched well by comparing the simulation results of the virtual prototype model with stochastic parameters and identification parameters with the experimental results.The influence of guide rail clearances on kinetic characteristics of this automatic mechanism was studied at last.Combined with mass replacement theory,a two dimensional random motion model of typical automatic mechanism is established.The randomness of gunpowder gas force and guide rail clearance are also considered in this model.The kinetic characteristics of the automatic mechanism were matched well by comparing the simulation results with the experimental results,and it is shown that the model has good simulation accuracy.Comparing the simulation results with the results of Adams model,the model is not only more accurate,but also greatly reduces the computation time.The action reliability of modular gun family is studied.The main influencing parameters of ejection action reliability are determined;a rigid ejection reliability analysis and design method of automatic rifles is established.A simplified virtual prototype model of rigid ejection action reliability is established,simulation results show that the position of ejector,the backplate position of ejection port and the ejection velocity are dominant factors of ejection action reliability;as the ejection velocity is high enough,gravity has less effect on ejection action reliability;some meaningful basis and references are provided for the design of automatic weapons as location dimension equations of ejection port are established.At last,the method's validity and suitability are verified by the experiment.Taking the magazine feeding mechanism of automatic rifles as the research object,following the method described above,the ammunition feed reliability is analyzed,and it is proved that this method has some commonality in the study of action reliability.A prototype of a modular gun system was developed and tested.Test items include:static testing,dynamic testing and 100m firing accuracy test.The experimental results proved that the design of modular gun family is feasible.The shooting hitting probability model,damage probability model and shooting effectiveness model of small arms are established.Based on these models,a combat simulation model of small group,according to the Monte Carlo method,is established,and the simulation software is compiled.The modular gun family shooting effectiveness is verified through a confrontation example.
