The present two domains of researches on Weapons and Equipment System of Systems(WESoS)are respectively WESoS design and operational capabilities assessment.Both architecture-based WESoS design and simulation-based effectiveness assessment are two important supporting methods,therefore WESoS architecture modeling and simulation has been a present research hotspot in the field of WESoS architecture design,analysis and assessment in the context of Model Based System Engineering(MBSE).However,considering of characteristics of WESoS architectures such as domain-diverse,behavior-diverse and dynamic,it is required to support architecture domain modeling,multi-paradigm modeling and architecture driven simulation.Utilizing thoughts and technologies of Domain Specific Modeling(DSM)and from the perspective of Domain Specific Modeling Language(DSML)design and development of a particular type of WESoS(such as Air Force,Navy or UAV Penetration SoS)architectures,an integrated method is proposed to solve the problems of WESoS architecture modeling and simulation on the foundation of DoDAF Meta Model(DM2).It puts forward a DSM-based WESoS architecture modeling and simulation framework,captures components(domain concepts and relationships)of a DSML by ontology-based domain analysis for a particular type of WESoS architectures,describes and refines its abstract syntaxes,concrete syntaxes and static semantics using Eclipse Modeling Framework(EMF)on the basis of designed metamodeling and graphical modeling framework,defines its dynamic semantics relying on architecture effectiveness simulation and decision modeling framework under the support of WESS.The method helps domain experts to build architecture models with their familiar domain concepts and relationships and realize architecture driven WESoS effectiveness simulation,fully sustaining WESoS researches.The innovative work of the paper includes the following three aspects:(1)A DSM-based WESoS architecture modeling and simulation method is proposed,and a DSM-based WESoS architecture modeling and simulation framework is built.In order to support domain modeling,multi-paradigm modeling and architecture driven simulation in WESoS architecture modeling and simulation,a DSM-based WESoS architecture modeling and simulation method is proposed on the basis of thoughts and technologies of DSM with a DSM-based WESoS architecture modeling and simulation framework,to provide an integrated solution from the angle of design for a particular type of WESoS architecture DSML(DSAML).It consists of three phases including DSM Preparation,DSML Development and Application,spans through three spaces respectively ontology,modeling and simulation space,provides a full-lifecycle method and tool support for WESoS architecture modeling and simulation,and helps to design and develop DSAMLs for different types of WESoS rapidly,fully and effectively supporting WESoS researches.(2)An ontology-based WESoS domain analysis method is proposed,and a domain ontology driven WESoS DSAML metamodeling technology is designed and realized.The design of WESoS DSAMLs relies on domain concepts and relationships captured by domain analysis.In order to solve the problem of lacking effective methods and tools to support domain analysis for WESoS architecture domains,a DM2-based domain analysis method to analyze a particular type of WESoS architectures is proposed in this paper on the foundation of ontology-based domain analysis and considering of the characteristics of WESoS architectures with a driven metamodeling technology by transforming domain ontologies captured by domain analysis to abstract syntaxes,static semantics and concrete syntaxes of WESoS DSAMLs.This method and technology utilize the advantages of the role of ontology in domain analysis and reuses DM2 ontology to support effective analysis for a particular type of WESoS architectures.At the same time,generation of WESoS DSAMLs from domain ontologies also avoids massive redundant work for design and development of DSMLs and improves its efficiency.What'more,the mapping relations between the WESoS ontology space and modeling space is built,filling their huge gap.(3)A model framework based WESoS DSAM driven effectiveness simulation method is proposed,and the transformation mechanism from WESoS DSAMs to simulation models is designed and implemented.Architecture driven simulation is an effective method to ensure the reuse and interoperability of simulation models among different simulation systems and avoid duplicate development of models to improve the efficiency.In order to solve the problems in the current implementation methods including huge workload and lack of support for composability and reuse,a model framework based WESoS DSAM driven effectiveness simulation method is proposed on the foundation of WESS,with the transformation mechanism from WESoS DSAMs to simulation models.Based on designed WESoS effectiveness simulation modeling and decision modeling domain framework oriented to WESS,it utilizes the model transformation technologies to design and implement generation of WESS simulation models,scenarios and scripts from DSAMs to implement dynamic semantics of WESoS DSAMLs,supporting architecture model driven WESoS effectiveness simulation assessment.It provides a new way to implement architecture driven simulation from the perspective of DSM and solve the mentioned problems.And it allows architecture effectiveness simulation assessment to be part of the process of architecture models design to effectively shorten the cycle of architecture design and development under the support of WESS and through implementing dynamic semantics of DSMLs.In all,starting from the three requirements of WESoS architecture modeling and simulation,the paper explores the ways utilizing thoughts and technologies of DSM to satisfy these requirements and provides feasible methods and tools for rapid and effective WESoS design,analysis and simulation assessment.So the paper possesses some theoretic value and practical significance.
