Research On The Expression Of Spatial Characteristics Of Metro Station Based On Regional Culture

As an ideal tool for public travel,metro is supposed to be the “Second Space” for the inheritance and exhibition of urban culture,due to its high mobility and high aggregation effect.However,it has to be at the expense of lost features of urban culture,although the developing urban metro in China has achieved obvious benefits from the construction speed.The standard twin-like design results in almost the same station space between lines,even between cities,without any typical cultural characteristics.In addition,subject to the national conditions of explosive metro construction and development,different cities have been still exploring and adjusting the design style and orientation of spatial environment of metro station.Despite the flourishing and diversified situation it has formed,there is no available theoretical system to provide general guidance.Regional culture is the soul of city personality trait.Notably the “information of environmental traits” in which has been implied is the design source that stitches together the underground and over-ground environmental zones,and endows similar spatial structures of different metro stations with distinctive identification and memory points.Currently,the spatial design of metro stations in China has been transiting from the fulfillment of basic functional requirements to the improvement of urban culture value.How to create a metro public space with “regional urban culture images” from the perspective of architectural culture and art will definitely become the focus of the sustainable development of metro construction in future as well as the historical responsibility and cultural undertaking of its identity as a century-long project! To this end,this paper attempts to identify and summarize the problems with general law from theoretical and methodological aspects,and has prepared a “theory-method-pattern”optimization plan and research framework for the expression of regional characteristics of metro station.In Section?,the paper firstly established the theoretical framework for the expression of the spatial characteristics of metro station based on regional culture.The core value and concept updating of metro station space under the notion of “regional characteristics” were explored from multi-level demands of passengers.Based on this,the connotation of a regional culture system of metro station space has been summarized in a structured way by extracting the main entry points of regional culture features of metro station space.The dual design dimensions of “space interface,public art” have been also established and the key subject in the “regional” metro space image system formed.A theoretical breakthrough has been made consequently.In Section ?,the paper summarized the expression method of the spatial characteristics of metro station based on regional culture.From the practical investigation and design practice,subject to the “space,function,culture” triple orientation,according to the research thread of “limitation factor – expression principle – expression method”,the expression method of the spatial characteristics of metro station is extracted in respect of space interface and public art,so as to achieve the applied research results for a humanistic environment design of metro station space.In Section ?,the paper summarized the expression pattern of the regional culture characteristics of metro station space in a structured way.With a view to the common law prevailing in the practice of space creation,two basic expression patterns of the regional characteristics of metro station space,homogenization – standardization and individuality– spatial art,are extracted in a structured way.This section identifies the causes,characteristics of design expression and advantages and limitations,verifies through the analysis of typical design cases,and recommends the alternatives of improvement,which can be referential to some extent.
