Research On Regional Characteristics Of Space Marker System In Subway Station

With the rapid development of science and technology and the speeding up of urbanization, the urban transportation development which mainly on subways establishes the foundation for building a harmonious and sustainable development society. The subways expand the urban space, and the complex city space structure will be formed with a multifunctional integrated space of ground and underground area. Living in the city, people realize the importance of the subway cultures. Subway not only is transportation, but also become the symbol mark of urban culture.However, they are lack of correct guidance and attention in our country, including the organic relations between ground and underground area of subway station, and the expression of urban spirit. Because it is shown an isolated space of subway station, without cultural identity and sense of place, it will bring confusion to people standing around. As important environmental information contacting with subway stations and a window to show the city image, the subway marker system not only has the function to solve and standardize the internal transport system, but also becomes the marker of fast and convenient, three-dimensional traffic system, and smooth traffic. In a word, the subway markers become the environment symbol markers with integrating the useful value, cultural value and aesthetic value.Research is carried out on the premise of people-oriented concept and the theory of modern design method, and aesthetic creation of Chinese Classical Philosophy and logical structure of Western semiology are applied to architectural space of urban subway, with the purpose of improving, promoting and broadening the thinking and design method of space marker in subway station. The dissertation crosses two disciplinaries of Semiotics and Architecture. It researches on the history of metro development and the metro space of worldwide. It researches shall provide the theoretical- design- evaluation overall multivariate optimization to metro station design management during metro constraction in China, Specific methods and measures are formed to study the “regionalism” system for space marker system of subway station.This paper is divided into 3 parts and 9 chapters. First, theoretical system with regional character is established on the marker design of subway station. Secondly, combing theory with practice, research of design system is conducted on three organic entirety space markers of the subway station, including information, symbols and semantic content. Finally, with the background of Xi’an subway station, theory and method of design with regional character are verified, and on this basis they are introduced to evaluation system after the completion of subway.According theoretical and method in design with the high integration of meanings, images and words, it is concluded that space marker system of Xi’an subway station is the marker of “culture symbol”, which combines the indication function, urban cultural experience and city spirit. This paper points out that the value orientation of the subway marker design in our country should merge together the following concept: design attitude and stance embodies suitable regionalism, and design direction integrates the international “universality” and regional “specificity”. With the rapid development of subway construction in our country, at present the existing design methods are often copied and the design concept is ignored, thus the paper suggests a new way of thinking for marker design, which has good application prospects, and theoretical and practical significance.
