Morphogenetic gene research prevailed in recent years is a thinking mode and an important approach to quantitatively analyze the bulk morphology of city and town spaces, inherit traditional spatial characteristic of cities and towns and accurately manage the spatial development morphology of cities and towns.Meanwhile,as to the protection and development of traditional villages,it is also helpful to take the following measures that are significantly fundamental for the preparation of relevant technical specifications for the protection and planning of traditional villages: to make quantitative analysis on the essential characteristic of morphogenetic gene of traditional villages(such as differentiation, recombination and variation),to completely understand the morphological composition, evolution process and functional mechanism of traditional villages and to establish the hierarchical morphogenetic gene pool. The research sample is Peitian Hakka Village in Western Fujian Province. With the characteristic analysis on gene element, gene chain and gene character in biogenetic, this thesis concludes the key aspects of morphogenetic gene research on traditional village land, including morphological character, elements(gene element)and rules of elements combination(gene chain),and proposes the analytical approaches of multi-hierarchical gene character,multi-dimensional gene recognition and multi-agent gene motivation. The analytical approach of multi-hierarchical gene character means: with the technical means of “Analysis on Plane Layout of Cities and Towns” and on the basis of the existing relevant technical specifications for village planning,a multi-hierarchical analytical approach is worked out,the primary indexes of the three-leveled morphogenetic factors of “Constructed Area of the Village-Functional Land-Building Foundation” and the ten secondary indexes such as building density are determined. The analytical approach of multi-dimensional gene recognition means: following the analysis content of “Gene Element – Gene Chain-Morphological Character” in biogenetics and based on two-dimensional attribute(time and space)of gene, the multi-dimensional gene recognition approach of “Elements – Rules of Elements Combination – Morphological Character” for land morphology is worked out and the analytical method for the morphogenetic gene character of village land is proposed to further explore the internal relation among these three factor. The analytical approach of multi-agent gene motivation means: based on the dynamics theory, the analytical approach of “Dynamic Source – Dynamic Type-Evolution Mechanism” for the dynamic mechanism of gene evolution is worked out and the quantitative or qualitative analytical methods for the dynamic strength, direction and effect of different historical periods are proposed.Based on the morphological research on Peitian Hakka Village in Western Fujian Province, the thesis proposes the analytical approaches of multi-hierarchical gene character,multi-dimensional gene recognition and multi-agent gene motivation for the village land morphologies at different historical periods. It makes a creative attempt on the theoretical exploration on the morphogenetic gene of traditional village land, the systematic design for gene indexes, the technical path for gene recognition and the analytical method for gene motivation. The research achievement is referable for the relevant parties to formulate the geographically-adaptable technical guide for the traditional village protection planning and to improve the standardized management on the traditional villages.
