| Urban architecture space is closely related to people’s daily behavior, as the main working object of urban planners and architects. While during a period of time, urban planning and architecture design neglect the natural ventilation organization. One side, the basic research of wind field on urban architecture space involves so many disciplines that the research results can not be directly guided the design practice. On the other side, the traditional architectural discipline is subject to professional restrictions, which is based on the empirical analysis and theoretical deduction. It is difficult to effectively control the wind field without quantitative research. In this study, it is taken the typical meteorological day in Wuhan summer as an example to simulate the urban architecture space in medium-small scale under the interdisciplinary background. The evolution mechanism of the wind field pattern is studied by combining qualitative and quantitative methods, looking for the architecture design method to meet the wind field pattern optimization. This thesis is focused on the following chapters:Chapter one explains the background of the research. It points that wind is a representative factor of the climate. The research on wind field pattern in urban architecture space has both theoretical and practical significance. Besides carding and reviewing domestic and foreign urban climatology, wind engineering and architecture research achievements on the urban wind field, it puts forward the research contents and methods.Chapter two discusses the basic issues of wind field patterns in urban architectural space from four aspects. First, it defines the research object and its classification from the perspective of climatologically background. Second, the system characteristics and research methods of the wind field are expounded by system science theory. Third, it selects the CFD software as a case study tool and the Wuhan city as a regional conditions of the research. At last, the paper introduces the method of evaluating the wind field in urban architecture space.Chapter three simulates and analyzes the morphological characteristics of building wind fields with different basic shapes, and discuses the influence of the upwind side to the wind field. At last, the paper simulates and analyzes the effectting on the wind field by seven common types of bottom aerial patterns.Chapter four simulates and analyzes the pattern of the wind field around a building group. It is from the combination and semi enclosed to the courtyard. It is said to control the wind field by adjusting the reasonable distance between the buildings in the vertical and horizontal direction. A comparative study on the Chinese traditional residence is conducted. The design strategy of the wind field optimization is summarized.Chapter five analyzes the wind field of street space aiming at the spatial features of street, buildings’interface and the relationship between the street and alley. The design factors as the street space, the direction and the breakthrough are analyzed, which is influencing the pattern of wind field.Chapter six classifies the wind field of urban district according to the spatial pattern. Due to the meteorological characteristics of the typical day in Wuhan summer, six kinds of plane layout mode and eight vertical layout patterns are studied. Two kinds of wind direction,SE and S, are used to investigate the different working conditions. By analyzing the variation of wind field among different spatial patterns of urban district, the design strategy and a series of data are obtained, which can be used to guide the design practice.Chapter seven discusses the framework of urban architecture design based on the wind field pattern, including the multiple levels of spatial analysis and the design process from the concept of the wind field.Chapter eight gives a summariy and points out the direction of future research. |
