Study On The Cultivation Of Center Cities And The Economic Development Of The Provincial Border Area In China

Since Reform and Opening Up,China develop the western region on a large scale,comprehensively reinvigorate the old industrial bases in northeast China and elsewhere,energize the development of the central region,and support the eastern region in taking the lead in development,thus effectively promote the vigorous development of China’s regional economy.Meanwhile,regional cooperation and coordination development Has been continuously promoted by the government,who put forward the "One Belt,one Road" construction,the coordinated development for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region,Yangtze River economic belt development,to promote the Pan Pearl River Delta,the areas around Bo Hai,Yangtze River Delta and other key process area.At the same time,as a special region in the China’s regional development,the provincial border area is a forgotten corner both from theoretical research and development practice.China’s provincial border area,especially in the central and western provincial border area,exist economic lag,and when compared with the provincial capital,its economic disparity is obvious.coupled with the corresponding ecological problems,ethnic problems,poverty alleviation development problems,the provincial border area has undertaken the various contradictions and problems.Accelerating the social economy development of provincial border area helps to solve people’s livelihood problems in the less developed areas,to share the achievement of modernization construction;to improve the network of regional economy in China,to link closely regional economy,to promote the coordinated development of the region and fully complete a well-off society,thus it is an important support for the adjustment of economic structure in the new normal.Therefore,how to speed up the economic development of provincial border area and break the economic lag problem is the important starting point and the main goal of this paper.The main route of this paper are as follows: put forward the problem-Analysis of the problem-to solve the problem of route to expand.From the logical point of view,there are many factors that affect the economic development of provincial boundary area,so it is the key to select a good research perspective,this paper argues that the provincial border economic zone lag mainly lies in the lack of the corresponding functional of the center cityes.The key to promote the provincial border area economic development is accelerating the development of central city,enhancing the function of the central city,promoting the economic development of provincial border area by enhancing the function of central city in a larger area.With such a logical starting point,the full text of the main use of the total-divided into the overall structure of the arrangement of the chapters,is divided into four parts,a total of six chapters.The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research purpose and significance of the paper,and gives the definition of provincial border area and its regional scope and the definition of central city.At the same time,the corresponding domestic and foreign research status were reviewed and sorted out.The second part is the theoretical basis,divided into second chapters and third chapters.In the second chapter,the characteristics and functions of the urban development are described in detail,and the central city is divided into four kinds of functions,such as development support,agglomeration,radiation and innovation demonstration.Then based on the growth pole theory,central place theory,core periphery theory,new economic geography theory,this paper illustrate the important role of the central city in the regional economic development.furtherly from the point of view of the function of central city,we elaborate the corresponding effect mechanism,also analyzed the important meaning of the center city on the provincial border area economy development,so as to provide a theoretical basis for the whole thesis.Particularity in the third chapter,based on the spatial economic activities of the provincial border area,we understand and analysis the mechanism of the formation and development of the center cities in the provincial border area,which can provide theoretical support for the following empirical analysis and countermeasures.The spatial difference of economic activities can cause the development of central cities,namely that is why the region is not easy to get the concentration of the population and enterprises? the analysis charm of the new economic geography model is that how the interaction between concentration and dispersion force influence the change of spatial economy and its structure,which is also an important reason for the development of the regional center city.Thus,the new economic geography center periphery model as a framework has been applied to this article.By introducing new variables and relax the original assumptions,with the special location of the provincial border area,we consider not only the factor of the inter provincial border area,but also consider the conditions for the development of the adiacent areas.We expand the three region core periphery model,then analysis the characteristics of spatial economic activities in provincial border area,and the formation and development mechanism of the central city of provincial border area.In the theory of argument and analysis framework,the next task is how to develop an empirical analysis on the development of the center city of the provincial border area and its impact on economic growth.thus we enter the third part of this paper,namely the part of empirical analysis,divided into the fourth and the fifth chapter.The fourth chapter introduces the economic and urban development of provincial border area,including the types andcharacteristics of provincial boundary area,and the economic development level and industry development and so on.Taking the center city as the research angle of view,this paper analyzes the development of the cities of China’s provincial border areas from the aspects of the quantity and scale of cities.In view of the complex Chinese provincial boundary,the different regional resource endowment and economic foundation,in order to facilitate the research Without loss of generality.This paper select the provincial border area of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi as Representative research area for empirical analysis.First,this chapter analysis the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi border area development situation,This paper constructs the index system,and combined with principal component analysis method to analyze and evaluation the center cities of provincial border area from the point of view of the function of the center city.We further construct a corresponding econometric regression model,combined with the corresponding panel data,to analysis the relation between the center cities and economic development in the provincial border area.The result verifies the positive relation between them,and also emphasizes that the deficiency of the center city leads to the lagged economic development in the provincial border area.In addition,considering the particularity of the provincial border area.we introduces the provincial dummy variables,and combined them with the central city development variables as interaction terms,and verified the effect of the center city of the provincial border area on economic growth in the provincial border effect factor.The regression results show that their relation will be affected by the provincial factors.The fourth part is to solve the problem,it is mainly aimed to draw the corresponding conclusion by way of the analysis of the first three parts,and puts forward the corresponding countermeasures.the conclusion and countermeasures of this paper as follows:First of all,the central city plays a significant role in economic development.But due to the lack of central city development,especially the lack of the corresponding function,the economic development of the provincial border area is lagged.Therefore,we should actively speed up the corresponding central city functions to promote the economic development of provincial border area.Thus,we lay stress on the target location and scale of development in the development to support function of the center city;enhance the function of agglomerationfrom of the center city from the optimization of the industrial structure and the specialize industrial cluster,and actively undertaking industries in developed regions to improve the aggregation function;build the unicom’s transportation and information infrastructure to the radiation function;strengthen the capability of independent innovation to enhance innovation demonstration function.Secondly,the mechanism analysis emphasizes that the central city of provincial border area is affected by the provincial capital city.Through the empirical analysis,it is found that there is a gap between central cities and capital cities,and the relationship between them is failed to achieve good interaction.Therefore,docking the capital city is one of the important ways to accelerate the development of the center city.And there is differences among the center cities in the provincial border area,indicating that the cities failed to form a good cooperation,so we should pay attention to the vertical group development among the center cities in the provincial border area.Third,in this paper,a important conclusion is that the center cities in the provincial border area will have been severely affected by the factors of provincial border,which bring the high transaction cost from the corresponding natural conditions,local protectionism and so on.To accelerate the development of the center city in the provincial border area,we should actively overcome the negative impact of the border effect,take advantage of the leading cooperation edge of the border area,such as the interest sharing and compensation mechanism,the cooperation and coordination organization,and the special content of professional integration.In addition,it is important for the center cities to build a good environment for development,such as to give full play to the benign interaction between the market and government,to play disorders and the role of government in the benign interaction,to solve the bottleneck problem of funds,to perfect the corresponding system environment etc..Overall,this article selects the center city cultivation as the research angle of view to analyze the economic development of provincial border area,has certain innovative and exploratory,has regional cooperation,which show the developing foreground as the air castles.This paper selects the cultivation of the city center as an entry point for the development of provincial border areas,and discusses the importance of the center city in the provincial border region development and cultivation.enrich and expand the provincial border region and the region economic theory research space.The research on the formation and development mechanism is not only a supplement to the existing center city development theory,but also a rich understanding of the research on the urbanization and the urban system in China.2.Innovation in mechanism analysis.This paper construct a new economic geography model for the development of the central city of provincial border areas.According to the provincial border area special geographical position,combined with a new economic geography model of agglomeration and diffusion mechanism,we build the three area Core-Periphery Model about the provincial border area center city development,to effectively analyzes the characteristics of economic activity of the provincial border area,and the mechanism of formation and development of the provincial border area’s center city.3.Innovation in quantitative analysis.For the better evaluation of the central city development,the empirical analysis,combined with the theoretical basis of the second chapter,build a central index system from the central city functional level.By using the principal component analysis method,this paper analyzes the development of the provincial boundary area of Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi.Meanwhile in the empirical measurement,this paper introduces the provincial dummy variables,and combined them with the central city development variables as interaction
