| The relationship between natural resources and economic development is an ancient and classic topic.As a basic factor of production,natural resources usually play a huge supporting role in the process of regional economic development.In today’s global economic integration,worldwide economic powers such as the United States,Canada,New Zealand,Norway,Australia and other countries to adopt strong profitability industry natural resources into productive forces,promoting economic prosperity in these country,and this kind of resource endowment on economic development to promote which the phenomenon is often referred to as "resources blessing".However,some resource-rich countries such as Venezuela,Latin Ecuador,Africa,Congo,Zambia,Kuwait,Iraq and other countries in Asia,although these countries have abundant natural resources but did not bring the economic leap forward for these countries,but appeared to curb economic growth,this phenomenon is often called the "resource curse".The thesis focuses on the relationship between the intensity of resource dependence and economic development,that is,whether the resource curse effect is formed.Empirical research were conducted on three regional scales,including five BRICS countries,31 provinces in China and 12 prefecture level cities in Heilongjiang province.It respectively reveals the resource curse effect and the resource curse depth of BRICS in the world.It reveals the spatial and temporal differentiation of resource dependence and economic development level between the 31 provinces of China and the resource curse demonstration.The resource curse effect and its transmission mechanism of 12 prefecture level cities in Heilongjiang province were revealed.Finally,based on the domestic economic system as the background,this paper puts forward the reasonable countermeasures and paths for China to avoid resource curse and achieve sustainable development in the new period.The main contents of this paper are as follows:The first chapter introduces the background of the research and clarifies the significance of the research.Reveals the importance of the research,through domestic and foreign resource curse,questioning,measurement,avoidance and other aspects of the research results,to shows the strategies and methods of research on the issue of resource curse in economics and sociology,on the basis of this,this paper puts forward the research purpose and tendency of geography for resource curse.The second chapter mainly introduces the basic theory related to the research of the resource curse,as well as the definition of the concept.The resource dependence and resource abundance in the field of economics has been controversial,some scholars have to clarify the relationship between the both,this paper mainly discusses the relationship between resource dependence and economic development,and in-depth exploration.The third chapter selects the most representative BRICS from all over the world to prove the effect of resource curse.The results show that the resource curse effect proposition is more common in the world,while the resource heterogeneity of the BRICS is more obvious,however,there is also an uncoordinated situation between resources and economic development as a whole.Then,the Chinese national health research group positive for 100 countries worldwide resource curse effect results in resource curse BRICS depth sorting,resource depth sorting results for the BRICS countries curse: Russia>South Africa>India > Brazil > China.The fourth chapter from the macro scale of 31 provinces Chinese to research,in view of the fact that the economists have already carried out several empirical studies on the inter provincial resource curse effect,therefore,the author mainly analysis the mobile resource dependence on the spatial agglomeration effect and economic center.Then,the relationship between the resource dependence of provinces and the level of economic development is considered,and the index of resource curse is used to reveal the extent of the resource curse in each province.The results show that the resource curse effect exists in the provinces of China.The resource curse effects are different in different provinces.The provinces with deep resource curse include Shanxi Province,Qinghai Province,Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,Heilongjiang province and Shaanxi province.The fifth chapter carries on the preceding argument,choosing Heilongjiang Province as the further empirical investigation object.There are two reasons for choosing this object: First of all,taking Heilongjiang Province as the empirical object,the domestic research is less involved at present.Only a few studies have mentioned the resource curse of resource-based cities in Northeast China.Secondly,from the current domestic economic development,accurate analysis of the relationship between resources and economy in Heilongjiang province is of great significance for rationally guiding the transformation and development of resource-based cities in this province.Through the panel data model around the city of Heilongjiang province from 1999 to 2013 were analyzed the impact of economic development indicators,founding that Heilongjiang Province resource intensity dependent formed a negative effect on the level of economic development,the manufacturing level of investment has a negative impact on economic growth,investment in physical capital and human capital investment have played a role in promoting economic growth.Starting from this phenomenon,author further analyzes the transmission mechanism of resource curse in Heilongjiang province.Research on the synthesis of previous chapters can be found,in the analysis of multi-scale research,the existence of a resource curse effect can still be verified,namely the occurrence of resource curse effect has a certain universality,when a certain area or a range of resources,economic and social relations of production with the corresponding conditions,the phenomenon of negative correlation resource and economy is widespread.Therefore,the sixth chapter is based on the domestic economic and social conditions,and puts forward some countermeasures to avoid the " resource curse " effect. |
