Developments in developing countries are important issues for the sustainable development of the world. Our country is a populous country, there is a long way for us to not only solve the problem of survival, but also realize the long-term development goals in a limited space. We need to overcome the problems such as population explosion, resource depletion, and environmental degradation. At the same time, as the biggest developing country, our country plays a decisive role in the meaning of "global governance". Due to the complexity of sustainable development, the construction of the sustainable development of our country still faces many challenges, such as discordance between population growth and resource, and the negative interactions between the pattern of economic development and the environment, and so on. Therefore, based on system thinking, from the perspective of regional coordinated development, we consider the regional environment, economy and society as a complex system to evaluate the sustainability in China. On this basis, We further discuss the optimization of regional sustainable development strategy for the improvement of the regional sustainable development theory. The innovation of the construction practice of sustainable development and management is of great significance. In this dissertation, the contents have been divided into seven parts. Chapter 1 introduces the background of the problem put forward, and the research purpose and meaning, research methods and technical route. Chapter 2 is the research both at home and abroad. In this chapter, we checked the references in the connotation and framework of regional sustainable development, the regional sustainable development comprehensive evaluation index, the subsystem coupling coordination, coupling coordination evaluation model, and systematics study. Chapter 3 discusses the the basic theory of coordinated development of regional ecological-economy- society. Chapter 4 constructs the regional ecological evaluation model for the coordinated development. Regional coordinated development evaluation model consists of two parts, one is the evaluation indicator system of regional coordinated development, the second is to coordinate development index model. Chapter 5 builds the coordinated development of the regional ecological-economic–society system dynamics model. By describing problems, it is clear about the purpose of modeling, based on system analysis, to determine the boundary of the system. Chapter 6 simulated the dynamic complexity of the system in our country based on system dynamics model of the system of regional coordianted development. Chapter 7 is the full text summary and outlook, summarizes the main content of the research, puts forward the creative point of this article, and pointed out in this dissertation, we study the deficiency and future research outlook. The contribution of this study is indicated in three phases. The first one is the innovation and extension of the sustainability theory. We proposed a new perspective of coordinated development to analyze, evaluate, and simulate the system of sustainability. The second one is the evaluation model of coordinated development index for regional sustainability. The last one is the system dynamics model of the complex system, constructed by ecology, economy, and society. We use the system dynamics model to simulate the intervention of each coordination policy. The simulation results show the influence of the policy in the target element and other related parts of the system. It helps us make decisions from a holistic vew. From the study, we achieved a lot of suggestions about how to coordinate the subsystems of sustainability and how to evaluate the level of regional sustainability from a system thinking.
