Background:The number of HIV/AIDS among young students is rapidly rising by years,and the sexual transmission has become the most main infection way.National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People’s Republic of China emphasized that the warning education about AIDS for young students is necessary.However,the applied research of warning education was unavailable in China.Furthermore,the significance of application and popularization also remained to be proven.Therefore,the development of related Assessement Scale and AIDS warning Education Curriculum for young students has profound theoretical significance and important practical value.Objective:Develop and evaluation the AIDS warning Assessement Scale and Education Curriculum among Chinese college students,so that provide practical tools and scientific basis for AIDS prevention and control of young students.Methods:1.On the basis of Extended Parallel Process Model,to develop AIDS warning Assessement Scale and Education Curriculum for young students according to literature analysis method and qualitative interview method.The Assessement Scale including eight dimensions and 22 items,which were HIV/AIDS related knowledge,cognitive dimension etc.The Education Curriculum is divided into three types in accordance with the warning dynamics:the control course,low warning course and high warning course.2.Guangzhou and Harbin province were selected as survey Sites.Assessment index about the scale mainly includes the inherent reliability,1/2 reliability and retest reliability,content validity and structure validity.At the same time,structural equation model was applied to verify inventory structure and the relevance between the field test data,which including confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis.3.The Assessement Scale was used to investigate cognitive situation of AIDS among youth students,which includes:HIV/AIDS related knowledge,the basic information and influencing factors of cognition and attitude,the ratio of sexual behavior and other influencing factors.4.Application of the warning education Education Curriculum for AIDS health education,and further evaluates the application effect of the Education Curriculum.Results:1.The Assessement Scale has good reliability and validity,all dimensions reliability index were greater than 0.6.The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient between 0.698~0.885,1/2 coefficient between 0.604~0.889.Factor analysis results showed that the common factor is in conformity with the design of each dimension in advance.All entries were greater than 0.5 except for premarital sexual behavior,which means the Assessement Scale has good structure validity.The severity of cognitive about condom use self-efficiency of the total effect is 0.40,and the susceptibility of cognitive about condom use self-efficacy of the total effect is-0.06.Furthermore,students’ attitude towards HIV/AIDS education and premarital sexual behavior intention has a larger direct effect to self-efficacy,is 0.49 and-0.31 respectively.2.Baseline research:The cognition of students about epidemic situation is insufficient of both two cities(39.8%and 35.4%).The results indicated that students mastery of knowledge was not very good for ’new drug increase the risk of infection’(67.0%,64.4%).The gender,city,the classification and whether to accept education is the influence factors for awaring of knowledge about HIV/AIDS among students.The severity perception of HIV/AIDS was in a relative higher level,but the perceived susceptibility of HIV/AIDS relative low.The differences among s severity perception,susceptibility of cognitive,condom use self-efficacy and premarital sex tendency between gender and school.The incidence of sexual behavior of Guangzhou students is 6.6%,lower than that of Harbin province.Gender,city,the classification and whether to accept education is the influence factors of students for having sexual behavior(13.5%).3.The recent-effect assessment:The awareness rate of students significantly improved after education with statistically significant(P<0.001),from 63.6%to 90.2%.Different strength of the warning Education Curriculum had no difference for student’s basic knowledge of HIV/AIDS,but had the significant differences in the promotion of severity of cognitive,susceptibility of cognitive,condom use self-efficacy,attitude to HIV/AIDS knowledge education and students’ attitude to AIDS.High strength of the warning Education Curriculum improving the severity of cognitive,susceptibility of cognitive,condom use self-efficacy of students,which is much better than other two groups.However,the Education Curriculum of three groups did not have effect on students’ intention to premarital sex behavior and sex behavior ratio.4.The medium-effect assessment:After six months invention,most students’ awareness rate of basic knowledge about HIV/AIDS is higher than 81.8%,but the overall effect decreased after intervention for some degrees.Three sets of Education Curriculum influenced the awareness rate of HIV/AIDS basic knowledge,the cognition of susceptibility and the attitude to AIDS education experienced the trend of increase first and then decrease,and they have no significant difference between the three groups of Education Curriculum for this aspect.The trend of effect on three sets of Education Curriculum on the cognition of severity is inconformity.Low strength and high strength group experienced the increase first and then decrease trend,however,the trend of the control group continue to reduce.In addition,three sets of Education Curriculum did not affect students’intention to premarital sexual behavior and incidence of sexual behaviors,which have atrend of rising for these two dimensions.Conclusion:1.The AIDS warning Assessement Scale has a whole has good reliability and validity in the present study,which can be applied to young students for AIDS warning evaluation.2.Three sets of Education Curriculum improved students’ AIDS related knowledge,attitude,and cognition in a certain extent.The effect of recent intervention of Education Curriculum is benefit,especially for the high strength group course.However,the medium-effect assessment of three sets of Education Curriculum is not obvious due to forgetting effects.
