Research On The Digital Survival And Development Of Intangible Cultural Heritage

With the transition of economy,changes of social,and the double-quick development of digital media technology and internet technology,for strengthening our cultural consciousness and confidence,enhancing Chinese traditional culture connotation,mining the value of it,and motivating the vigor and vitality of excellent Chinese traditional culture,there is a crying need to deepen our cognition of Chinese traditional culture.Therefore,China has proposed the"great cultural development and prosperity,"which spring out of the revival of traditional culture,particularly the use of modem media means to the inheritance,exhibition,dissemination and promotion of traditional culture---through the intersection of culture and technology,innovating and promoting the Chinese traditional culture,building a database for cultural works of art and an information resource database for national culture,and studying the parallel and reciprocal model for industrial operation and public service on the aspects of digital cultural content resources.As the basis of cultural identity and cultural sovereignty,cultural heritage,is dying away at a startling speed,even on the verge of extinction.Intangible cultural heritage,with a grim prospect,is confronted with the existential crisis-(subjective crisis,ecological crisis and so forth).Digital technique has regenerated a host of endangered stuff.The traditional culture and industry,having been seemingly unrelated,could form new bonds and new cross-border,and expand new formats through digital technique.Also this cross-border and integration can seek a new thought of inheritance and development for traditional culture,cultural heritage and these sorts of Chinese historic and cultural gems.For intangible heritage,not only does it need archival preservation,but also intergenerational transmission.Furthermore,we are supposed to reinterpret it in a fresh way and endow it with new cultural implications,which can connect it with our modern life.So it is what utilizing digital information technology to recode,reconstruct,and interpret intangible heritage to make the public embrace it on the cultural level of digital technique.This paper initially investigate intangible heritage of Huizhou,summing up with the category of intangible cultural heritage which includes its maintenance,preservation,utilization status and realistic problems it encountered---populations of heritage are decreasing,living space is compressed,"flowing memories"are disappearing,the mode of transmission is antiquated,and the scope of transmission is narrow.With these problems,we are expecting that using modem digital means to make up for the its existence.Digitization is a state of being,which can influence the subsistence of intangible heritage,by examining and expounding the effects digital media have on intangible heritage from the aspects of field shifting,malposition,translation,empowerment,transformation,ignorance,reproduction,inheritance,transmission,and identification.Applying the theory of encoding/decoding,information communication,information space and relevant theories of cultural heritage to discourse the digitization of intangible heritage.The integration of multi-disciplines provides a theoretical basis for the digitization of intangible heritage,and provides a feasible scheme and a prerequisite for the effective coordination of related subjects.What form and media should be used to carry the digital content of intangible heritage?This paper argues that there must be a carrier for digital content---intangible cultural heritage database,and there should be unified management to ensure legitimate flow and diffusion of digital information in the system and market.The construction significance and path for intangible heritage of Huizhou needs to explain on the reference of "participant spectrum" and"cooperation-participation",and needs to design and build intangible heritage database and digital map,then to expound the management and operation of that database.That's where rule number four comes into play:to elaborate the deployment of intangible heritage digital resources by means of information space theory.Not only does the significance of intangible cultural heritage digitization lie in archival preservation and record of virtual symbols,but also in how to utilize and prolong the cultural semantics and symbolic system which is behind digital archives and symbols.The study of digitization of intangible cultural heritage is a trend of the development of our social and economy.For one thing,the digital transformation of intangible cultural heritage endows the public the possibility to understand the connotation and value of cultural heritage resources,and to conduct cultural communication and innovation,which is helpful to the preservation and succession of cultural heritage resources in Huizhou.For another,the digital content resource of cultural heritage is to become material base and industrial base of cultural industry.
