On Manchu Function Words

Manchu function words play an important role in the Manchu language,and they focus more on the grammatical meaning of a part of speech.Thay play a crucial role in the study of grammar and it is a research field which can not be ignored in the study.Manchu language is an adhesive type,although its grammatical meaning is mainly composed of affixation,but the function words in grammar play a very complex and important role.As a word,function word keeps its own form and grammar changes,but its meaning develops grammaticalization,so it doesn't act as parts of the sentence.Function words keep a lot of contact with content words.As the word semantic falsified,losing its syntactic function independently,the function words only add various grammatical meaning for related words,therefore,the meaning of function words express more close to the grammatical forms.We devide the Manchu words based on the actual,according to the lexical,syntactic function and morphological changes.There are three levels of the devision.Manchu words can be devided into two categories of content words and function words.This article studies the function words.This paper embraces the following parts: auxiliary verbs,postpositions,conjunctions,linking verbs and modal words.We analyze the grammatical meaning and functions of these words,and put forward our views.
