Quantitive Study Of The Component Part System Of The Qin Dynasty Bamboo Slips

Qin Manuscripts Literature is the first-hand written material carrying the clerical change and font gradual progress of Chinese characters,which holds an important role in Chinese characters’ development history.With the constant publication of new materials and the increasing depth of correlative research,the transitional forms of the characters in the Qin Dynasty Bamboo Slips have gradually shown during the clerical change of seal characters.In this current period,the configuration system of the characters is necessary for further investigation.Under the guidance of the system theory of the science of Chinese characters formation,this study exhaustively investigated the characters in the currently published Qin Manuscripts Literature,and systematically analysed the component parts of the characters in the Qin Dynasty Bamboo Slips and the existing script figures of all the components part.By building the system of component parts of the characters in the Qin Dynasty Bamboo Slips and carrying out comprehensive classification and quantitative study on the forms of component part,we discussed the characteristics and evolution laws contained in the configurational system of the characters written on the Qin Dynasty Bamboo Slips.The innovation of this research has mainly reflected in the following aspects:First of all,this research has a comprehensive and systematic clear-up of the characters and the component part system of the Qin Dynasty Bamboo Slips of Fangmatan,Liye and Yuelu for the first time.These abundant materials hold certain significance in exploring the characteristics and evolvement laws of the component parts system of the characters in the Qin Dynasty Bamboo Slips.Secondly,this research has conducted a thorough quantitative research for the first time on the component parts and its script figures of characters in the Qin Dynasty Bamboo Slips.With the method of systematic analysis,this research has cleaned up all the script figures of the component part system in the Qin Dynasty Bamboo Slips,which has shown a diversified development appearance in an intuitive way.In this way,we could also reveal the complexity in the evolution of the component forms of the Qin Dynasty Bamboo Slips.Thirdly,this research concentrates upon the classic component parts and their typical script figures in the component system of the Qin Manuscripts Literature,and summarizes the regularity hidden in the script figures of the component part.Then we could further clarify the development trend of these component parts.By focusing on the new script figure of the component part in the Qin manuscripts literature,this research investigates the relations between three factors,the script figure of component part,the time of the manuscripts literature and literature types,we could have a deep analysis of the character and distribution of the different script figures of the component parts.Thus,we could find the missing link in the evolution of the figure component part that the new script figure played in the manuscripts literature and make clear of the development sequnce of this component part.Fourthly,this paper makes effort to an exhaustive investigation on the characters written as the grass writing(?)in the Qin Dynasty literatures for the first time.A quantitative analysis has been carried out from the aspects of the source component part and stroke feature for the sake of exploring the typicality and systematicness of cursive script characters and deepening the understanding of internal differences in the Qin Dynasty Bamboo Slips.By discussing the origin and evolvement of their cursive script,this research builds up the connections between the variation of the component part and the evolution of the Chinese font.This contributes to a further understanding of the status and function of the characters in Qin Manuscripts Literature in the development history of Chinese characters.
